Last Boy

Four boys went out walking one day
Four boys walking four ways

The first boy stepping tall and proud
Said out loud "One day a rich man I will be
With all the world set before me
I値l own it all and when I fall
I値l take it all with me!"

The second boy marched to the drum
"To war I go
And high and low I値l hunt the enemy
I値l sing of fame and I値l sing of glory
In the end I値l gain but a hole and a shroud."

The third boy had a skip in his step
"I値l sing of dreams and prettier things
I値l take their minds and make them mine
My songs their souls, I値l sing them high and low
And when they値l cry when I知 gone!"

"I値l walk my own path," the last boy said
"And follow wherever it leads
I値l sing my songs but take no souls
I値l give my money freely
I値l hold my sword, I値l spill no blood
And I値l not want for glory
I値l follow my path wherever it leads
Through love and gain
And life and pain
Till my lessons are learned
And my rest is earned
Then I値l have my story.
