Creatures of Middle-Earth in the Third Age of the Sun

Orcs

Orcs, Yrch, Goblins. The despised servant of the Darkness are ever a threat to the free peoples of Middle-Earth. Men and Hobbits may hate and fear them, but for true disgust and violent hatred, one has to go a long way to beat a Dwarf or an Elf faced with Orcs.

Male Orcs are, by definition, warriors. Orkish society is violent, and only the tough and capable survive. they do not die of old age, and are mostly immune to the diseases, but living a long time takes a special Orc.

Orcs despise the light of the Sun, and prefer to sleep during the hours of daylight. However, they can still see well enough to engage in combat if the need is there. Under starlight they can see as well as a man during the day. In near darkness they can still see well out to 50'; in total darkness, they can still see out to 10'.
