Easterlings is a broad term used by Westron peoples to refer to the nomadic Men that come out of the east from around the Sea of Rhûn and beyond. In Gondor, 'Easterling' is a word laden with hostility, a hostile foreigner who follows dark gods and wants to slaughter your families.
Easterlings tend to be swarthy, with dark hair and eyes. They are typically shorter than the Northmen, Edain or Southern Haradrim. Many menare bow-legged, from a life spent in the saddle.
Attributes: | | The Tongues of the East The Easterlings are not one people. Among their number are peoples such as the Dorwinrim, Horl, Raliani, Adekdar, Tyr, Ibavi, Ahar, Shay, Chey, Chy, Womaw, Lochans, Vulm, and Argaw. Therefore, there is not one language. The Downirim of Dorwinion on the Sea of Rhûn, a people that prefer trade with the West to war, speak Logathig. The peoples in the vicinity of Dorwinion probably speak a similar tongue, but the further from Dorwinion the less likely one is to find a familiar tongue.
