The History of Austin

The Austin Area history, at least in relation to the fae, is as as ancient and just as adventurous as any area in the New World.  While most Changelings came and first started settling this area around the same time as Austin's Original 500 families, the tradition of the fae has been here longer in the form of the Nunnehi.  All of this land was once theirs, but now they have been mostly pushed away and live where they can find peace.  This is not to say they have gone completely.  Quite the contrary, for they are always there when you least expect it.

Now.  In Austin and the surrounding areas, the relations with the European Changelings and the Nunnehi were not always peaceful.  Battles were fought over the control of the freeholds and the rigth to dream.  Eventually, both sides, whether through visions or common sense, realized that their wars not only accomplished them nothing, but it was also destroying the Dream.  A treaty was made for the Austin area.  Part of this treaty was the promise that the Nunnehi were always welcome in the freeholds that were once theirs, for they gave up most of what they had.  One centrally located freehold was given to a troll captain of the European Changelings, and the treaty was sealed at the gathering.

Over the years, the freehold went through many owners, and eventually it came into the ownership of an Entitled Commoner, a Satyr Baron named Jeriah.  Now, the history has been concluded, but the present remains.  What is in store for those of the Dream?  Many predict that now approaches the time of the Final Winter.  Are the prophesies true?  Will the local fae be able to live out these tough times?  Or will the Dream continue unto a New Spring.  Only time will tell.
