These are screenshots from my Compaq Workstation running the Voodoo5 I bought off eBay "for parts." At first the computer refused to boot. I tried many things, including blowing warm air into the case for ten minutes before boot-up in case the connectors needed some expanding (hey, I had some free time on my hands, okay?). I updated the card's bios, but it still didn't work (though the bios update was supposedly successful). Then, after looking on eBay for another piece of broken equipment I could blow some money on, I found a guy selling a TNT2 card - he said that he needed to update the bios of the motherboard of his (old) computer in order for it to work. Interested, I looked on Compaq's website and sure enough, there was a bios update. I did that, and sure enough, it booted! After doing a little dance, I noticed that something was odd. Now, remember that the card wasn't really made for NT. Hey, I had to update the bios just to get it to boot. I'm also using beta drivers (no NT drivers were officially released). Anyway, here's the screens (1.5 mb total) : |
