Story: After Kahn's invasion dissipated and he was destroyed, the Outworld reverted back to Edenia. Sindel realized her true identity and claimed her birthright as Edenian Queen. Kitana took her place at her mother's side, and Jade the Huntress and Rain took their places as high ranking officers in the army.
Sindel found that many other realms were in the same predicament Edenia had once been in. In an act of pity, Sindel assigned the Ambassador to New Realms, an Edenian who had survived the invasion and served Kahn in chains for the millennia that the Outworld existed.
During that time, he met another slave girl, and Tanya was a product of that relationship. As dictated by law, Edenian children were to be raised as assassins for Kahn. Although Tanya was loyal to Shao Kahn, she knew when to shift her loyalties, and became the revered daughter of the Ambassador to New Realms when Edenia was reformed.
Tanya soon received a vision from Quan Chi. He told her that if she made arrangements for Shinnok to come through the portal to Edenia, she would be greatly rewarded when he rose to the power he sought.
Soon after, Tanya led a group of refugees fleeing their own, dying world. Sindel accepted these, but when brought before the queen, they revealed themselves: Shinnok, Quan Chi, and their Army of Darkness. Tanya joined the army and helped to bring Edenia under Shinnok's rule.
Now Shinnok was ready to wage war on the gods that doomed him.
