Using the Ichiban Ongaku | ||||||
Using the Ichiban Ongaku is simple- just attach a 9V battery to the battery snap and the unit should turn on. To generate a tone, simply touch one of the two exposed wire head pointers to one of the exposed resistor wires. Notes are labled below each exposed wire. Flats, sharps and whole tones are all possible, but the range on some units is limited to notes from g-c. Additional notes and octaves are available on more expensive units. While it is possible to use either the front or back row of resistors, it is highly reccomended that the front row is used as it is most easily accesable. Each breadboard peice will produce a specific sound if touched, but the leftmost two breadboards will produce erratic sounds and are not to be used. CARE AND TROUBLESHOOTING: Like any instrument or electircal device, the Ichiban Ongaku is prone to malfunction unless properely cared for. On units with exposed circutry, it is of utmost importance that the circutry is not tampered with. Other errors can stem from unclean wire heads or resistor wires. If the unit is producing undesirable results, check all wire connections and clean the unit thoroughly. The speaker is also exposed and damage to it will obvisly result in unwanted tones. It importantthat the ichiban ongaku is cared for properly- dropping or smashing the unit can possibly cause irreversible damage. |
