Wanna defeat the American Weapons? Of course you do! Well, let me tell you that they are not as tough as they look. All you have to do is become tougher. So I recommend fully that you get alot of experience before you take these guys on.

Emerald Weapon


FIRST!! = Emerald Weapon is underwater. You don't breathe water. You have 20 minutes before you drown (which is pretty good but definately not enough). In the underwater reactor at Junon is an enemy called "Ghost Ship" (in those clear tubes to the reactor) which will morph into a Guidebook. Seems like nothing, but someone really wants it! You can find this grateful man in Kalm, second floor in the house most to the right. He'll give you an underwater materia for it, which will allow you to breathe underwater, and take off the 20 minute timer.

Here are a few things you might want before you fight Emerald Weapon:
No, I don't think you need Knights of the Round for him. It takes too long. 4x-cut, when you're tough enough and have your ultimate weapons, does enough damage, especially with Mime.
So, you can cast Big Guard starting off and already you're walled and in haste. Emerald Weapon has an attack that can take off one persons wall as well as do alot of damage, so you might want a singled Barrier materia as well to remedy that. Then you can start attacking with 4x-cut/Mime/Mime/Mime etc, and when it's needed just give yourself a Megalixer. This will probably have to be often. :P

REWARDS!! = you want rewards? Well, all you'll get from the Emerald Weapon is something called the Earth Harp. But the man in Kalm who gave you the underwater materia is willing to give you: Master Magic, Master Command, and Master Summon Materias for it!!! And there you go! C'mon get happeeeeeee!

Ruby Weapon


This same strategy won't exactly work for Ruby Weapon. He's waaay to resistant to physical attacks. And bet you'll only be left with on person, thanks to his Whirlwind attack that sucks your players down.

So you'll definately need Knights of the Round for this guy. Even if you didn't bother to breed chocobos, you'll have the Master Summon from the man in Kalm if you chose to defeat Emerald Weapon first (which I find to be a good idea). Since it's probable to have only one member of your party left, it's a good idea to equip one person with all you got and just hope that he (preferably Cloud, as always) is the one Ruby Weapon leaves. There's always restart.

Ok, a slightly different list for Ruby Weapon:
When you first fight, don't attack. Just sit there and look pretty for a bit, because Ruby Weapon is invincible until he sticks his arms in the ground. You'll have his fingers floating up behind you, also inflicting attacks. They'll take your MP, so be careful. They'll also try to turn to into a frog, this is what you want a Ribbon for. I suppose you could just use a White Cape, but I like my Ribbons.
Once it's arms are in the ground, you can start casting Knights of the Round on him. Keep up your MP so if you die, your Final Attack will kick in. About 5 times with Knights of the Round/W-summon should kill him. All you have to do in that time is stay alive> :)

AND MORE REWARDS!! = Ruby Weapon give you Desert Rose. Kalm man give you Gold Chocobo for Desert Rose.
