Perhaps before she'd held his mind,
From a place within his heart,
But now he should be free of her,
So long they'd been apart.
Yet still she crept into his thoughts,
As he tried to sleep at night,
For while the seabreeze whispered,
He could not forget, try though he might.
Once before he had been lulled so,
By such a sultry breeze,
And as he lay there stupored,
She had snuck amongst his dreams.
Before he knew himself why,
He had shown her far too much,
Laid bare his hopes and hidden truths,
Told her she was the one he loved...
After that it had grown cold,
As the air began to chill,
Never more did she peek into his dreams,
But dream about her did he still.
