Frank's Bio
It all started when I was 8 or so I believe. Me and my friend were inspired
by games such as dragon strike, and hero quest. We created our own games and
sort of "co-GMed" our way along, most of the time things were just
incredibly goofy. That continued untill I was about 15 or 16. (this other
stuff happens during this period) My first experience with a real game was
in Colorado during one of my familie's get togethers. My cousin was working
on a "spec-ops" game, and got us to test it. We spent the week battling
drug lords in columbia, and I loved it. Unfortunatly, that particular set
of cousins lives in Idaho, so I dont see them that often. I had to be content
with me and my friend's weird little homebrews. He introduced me to magic,
and I thought it was pretty cool, so I started playing that. Thus I bought
an Inquest magazine and within I saw an article for Warhammer 40,000. I thought
It looked awesome, so I got a boxed set and checked it out. Unfortunately,
before I could really get into it, I was shipped off to Taiwan (my step dad
got a job over there) and was sort of cut off from the age of 11 to 14. I
would come back over summer and I think I went to dragons lair on tuesdays
a few times. Finally I came back to the states to start high school and began
to attend the Tuesday games night weekly. I played Warhammer for a while,
and then Heavy Gear and Battletech. I was invited to join a Heavy Gear roleplaying
campaign (the same one John mentions) And the Feng Shui campaign that followed.
Somewhere around this time John started a DnD game loosely based on Final
Fantasy Tactics, but it only lasted a session. However, it was the first time
I met Gordon and Pony Vincent.
Feng Shui ran for a while, and when it ended, John started to run star wars
using the old system. It lasted a session. A little while after that he started
another game of starwars, this time using D20. It was great fun, and lasted
for quite some time. A while after it ended my friend (the same one mentioned
above) started a DnD campaign, and to be honest... It was pretty terrible.
After it ended, I joined in a DnD campaign that John, Mike, Gordon, and Pony
were playing in. It only lasted for a few sessions after I joined. To replace
it, Pony started a 7th Sea campaign, ToRA to be specific. After a few weeks
this game moved to saturdays, and thats the first time I actually played a
game over at the Vincents house. A little while after that, John started another
DnD campaign on saturdays, with airships n' stuff, but it tanked after a few
sessions. Then later Pony started Los Casablanqueños on thursdays,
and I play in that still. I also joined Mike's Mythic Europe campaign some
time after it started. That pretty much brings us up to the current day, Im
18 (close enough, one month away at the time this is written) and I dont wargame
much anymore. Though I have been cheerfully smashing John's warcaster to squish
in Warmachine lately...
