First Day Of Class
Monday June 4, 2007
So the whole program woke up early today and went to INSA (the University where we're taking classes) to fill out forms so we're able to
take the classes. That was very uneventful.
Then the guys and the girls seperated, the guys went back to the dorms to eat. We got pizza and ate. We left for downtown so we could all get
bus passes which work on both the buses and subways. There unfortunately are not many subways around here. There's one route which goes from
a stop near our dorms to downtown that won't open unfortunately until June 20th....right before we leave. It's ok though.
We got back and had our first day of our Engineering course. This course just basically talks about global issues regarding National policies
around the world. Apparently every day is filled with an hour lecture by Janet Elzley and then an hour lecture of us talking. This means that
every single day in the class we are given a prompt and (in groups of three) give fifteen minute presentations on whatever topic we were given.
I'm upset about this amount of work because I basically thought that there wasn't going to be much work involved in the scholastic aspect of
this program but it's ok. It's mostly been so far just looking up information on the internet and placing it in a powerpoint presentation.
I don't have any good pictures today and most likely won't for a while. Tomorrow we do not have Elzley's class but do have our first french
class.
