Jeffy Makes It To Toulouse
Friday June 1, 2007: Late
I have made it to Toulouse and am staying in my dorm room. Today was fairly uneventful. I woke up this morning very early as the timestamp
on my last post will tell you. I checked out of my room and made my way to the airport getting there very early. The flights in London's
Gatwick airport are confusing. I guess they don't have a set gate for each flight so you have to wait in the main lobby area watching the
screen until the "Please Wait" sign is replaced with a gate number about 30 minutes before your plane is supposed to depart. I thought
that was odd.
Once I landed in Toulouse I made my way to the baggage claim. I actually had to check my baggage for this flight because EasyJet only
allows you to have one peice of luggage on at a time. At Baggage Claim I met up with two girls who are also in my program and Florian who
is a Toulousian student at the same University where I am studying. He got us a cab and we made it to the dorm.
At the dorm I met up with Janet Elzley who is leading the whole study abroad program and is the teacher of one of my classes. She showed
me my room and gave me my cell phone. After that everyone in the summer program had lunch together at this pizza place right outside our
dorm. We chatted and were told what the plans are for this weekend. After that I went up to my room and collapsed for a much needed nap.
When I woke up I met with Summer and Spring study abroad students and we all went to eat out at a very nice dinner. We had wine, and it
was a three course meal. Duck salad, followed by squid and rice, followed by some sort of brownie/ice cream dessert which was excellent.
We talked and good stuff. After that we went to a couple of bars and then headed back home. I'm here now bored. My roommate doesn't get here
until tomorrow because of many set backs he's had over the last couple of days.
Below is the entrance to my dorm room.

And here is a picture of my dorm's bathroom.
