The white haired guard pauses in his aim to look over at tired guard he smiles, "Wouldn't want to make your wife a widow!"
If the guard was not so tired, he'd probably laugh. As it is, he pauses to look at him, "Same goes to you animal boy! Shoot me and I'll hamstring you and leave you for these wolves to play with."
Meanwhile, the poor mage getting mauled on the ground, is continuing his desperately brutal struggle to shake the wolf off of him. Neither the wolf nor the mage seems to be willing to give ground as both attack! But the mans luck takes a turn for the worse as a second wolf abandons trying to remove the arrow shaft from its side and begins to try taking hunks out of the mages leg.
Taking aim the white
haired guard tries to get a decent target but find that his nearest targets
are too closely entangled with the mage to get a good shot. Trying to make
sure he doesn't hit the mage he fires and his shot goes well over their heads.

Flint the dwarf spots two wolves
hanging back next to one of their deceased companions. They seem to be unwilling
to retreat. "I suppose these are as good as any he mutters to himself.
He trots over and says in a louder voice, "Here doggie, doggie, doggie!
I got some nice treats for you." The two wolves move forward snapping
and growling.
Flint stops up short
and looks at them indignantly, "Is this the welcome I get for trying to
be nice? Fine! Never let it be said that the Mighty Flint Bloodrock doesn't
give what he gets." The battle between the two injured wolves and the
dwarf with the big ego is predictably short. Two good blows to the head and
both wolves go down quickly. Flint escapes with only a few minor scrapes.

The rough looking warrior is
starting to tire, as the two wolves attacking him seem to be playing with him
as they snap and growl moving in and out of his range. They are joined by a
third wolf that joins in but is not nearly as active.
Two dwarves appear to the south of him, one continues on. The other armed with the war hammer, turns to help the rough looking warrior out. The dwarf succeeds in distracting one wolf and turning its attentions to him.
The music maker tries to keep the wolf from his face, his other hand scrambling for his sword, but he can't seem to reach for it.
The wolf suddenly
leaps off of him and the music maker looks up in surprise as he sees a pick
swing through the air in front of him. A moment later a dwarf charges past
him after the wolf again leaps out of harms way.

Two men, the ranger that came
with the dwarves and the archer with the bone bow ignore all that is happening
around them as they stare at each other, waiting for something to happen.
The archer with the bone bow is still watching the other archer when a wolf leaps at him. Only the mass of his giant bone bow protects him as it partially blocks the wolves attack and the two go down in a tumble. Luckily as the wolf attempts to remove the archers head, a nearby guard looks up and sees his predicament and moves to help him.
All three are startled a few moments later when a young Elvin woman wearing half plate and wielding a glowing two handed sword charges into the fray.
She is quickly followed by a ranger with two swords and a man shouting, For my Lord Enerius wielding a pair of flaming swords.
The wolves begin retreating as still more people appear on the scene to take up the battle. They are lead by a tall muscular human with short black hair and a long black beard. He is astride a magnificent ebon-black stallion.
The wolves hightail it north. Only a few who watch them leave notice that the two strange flying creatures were hovering over the forest edge to the north before heading in the direction of Torana's Tower.
The newcomers consists of two archers, the Elvin woman, a human ranger with two swords, a human priest with two flaming swords, a human with a long sword, an elf with two swords, a man with a pike and a man with mace. They are accompanied by the man on the horse and a man with a particular style of dress. Capping this full head of hair is a dark blue brimmed hat complete with a stunning peacock feather. He wears a dark blue silken doublet of very high quality that is decorated with strange runes done in silver thread that run down the side, under the arms. His pants are solid black, but obviously they too cost quite a bit more then most would spend on clothes. Completing his attire is a black cloak of very fine material that has many of the same strange runes stitched along the edges in the same silver thread as the shirt.
The man on the horse says, "Who is in charge here?"
"That would be me!" Says a voice from the southeast. He looks to see a horse drawn carriage that matches the others trotting closer to the group. The voice belongs to a man whose head is sticking out the window.

Even as they approach wolves are savaging two guards, while one is trying to keep two more wolves at bay. Oddly enough two archers seem to be having some kind of argument while a third tries to snipe from safety, but is only having minor luck.
As they watch the situation seems to get worse as a few of the wolves team up nearly overwhelming some of the guards.
For the other side of the caravan charge a trio of dwarfs. They split up and attack the wolves bringing some semblance of help.
The two archers stare at each other and it is costly as a charging wolf knocks one of the archers down.
Asura Heavenstar charges with Zraxin and Pyros in close pursuit.
As everyone moves closer to the battlefield, the wolves decide to retreat being now obviously outnumbered.
Voreas rides closer and looks around the battlefield.
Next to one of the overturned carriages is a tall white haired guard with a bow who turns to look at the newcomers.
Further along is a man in a dark blue robe with the arms and legs shredded and his face bloodied. He looks around the battlefield with anger in his eyes.
Another guard is helping an archer with a strange long yellowish-white bow up with huge rips in his chain mail armor and a mace dangling from his side.
Two dwarves stand next to a rough looking guard who seems to be on the verge of collapse and a guard wearing ring mail with a penny whistle on his belt.
The field is complete with a mace-wielding dwarf staring at another human archer who looks to be a ranger and a host of dead bodies, human, elf, ant, and wolf. That ranger is staring at the archer with the yellowish-white bow.
As he looks around Voreas says, "Who is in charge here!"
"That would be me!" Says a voice from the southeast. He looks to see a horse drawn carriage that matches the others trotting closer to the group. The voice belongs to a man whose head is sticking out the window.

Tristan places a hand on Xedels shoulder, "Wait a sec, old man, we should find out who this man on the black stallion is. Two separate ant attacks, now wolves, and those birds seem to be in the midst of it all!"
Gwydeon turns to the old man, "Xedel, I think we should help them out and give respect for the dead. Then we can follow the creatures."
He glances to the north and notices that the creatures in question are winging their way north and unless he is mistaken they are headed straight for the tower.
Gedai says, "Isn't Torana's tower in that direction?"
Gwydeon nods.
Gedai says, "You don't think that they could have been talking about the tower do you?"
The question catches many by surprise, and Gwydeon considers for a moment, "No, we are still a few of days travel from the tower."
He shakes to clear his head and Stash moves over to him. "Let me take a look." After examining him for a moment and says, "My Lord Solutious. I your humble servant ask of you a simple boon. This brave adventurer has been injured and is in desperate need of aid, which only you can provide. Please grant me the power to relieve him of some of his pain."
A blue glow appears around his hands. There is the sound of rushing water as the glow spread around the body of Gwydeon and seems to be absorbed into him.
