There are very few known hunters that know what happened in the past. Most of that information was lost in the 20 years of blank. When the history virus finally stopped working the hunters gathered to discuss who would be known for their wartime exploits. Most decided that a normal life was what they wanted so they were left out of the new history. Of those some, like Dale, had been seen too much to disappear like they wanted. A few of the people that chose to disappear later joined again to track the remaining mavericks. Because X and Zero were great fighters and it as decided that the battles that should be known would be accreted to them most of them they were there for but a few they were not. They were also decided to be the Earth based defenders. Dale became a myth he was there at all of the great battles keeping the hunters who got hurt from dying as well as was on eof the stragity masters designing out the path of battle. The first of the X Wars were nothing compared to what came next. All of that time is wrongly called the X Wars. The true X Wars covered but a few cities the real war that everyone thinks of as the X Wars was the Sol Wars. The Sol Wars was a massive battle through out all of the Sol System every planet from Mercury to Pluto was a battle site. Sol Wars were so close to the X Wars that even at the time few people knew the difference. It was not until some time after the Sol Wars that space travel was common place so few people learned that the battles on the other planets ever took place. The few that knew were the hunters and a few government humans. There were extensive records but those were lost forever in the pages of history. The remaining hunters did tell of the fantastic wars in space but their tales were not entirely true and the surviving mavericks ether did not know or did not care to correct them so once again history has been altered by the victors.
