She sleeps peacefully on the bed beside me. My love, my life, my Faith. It’s warm, and she’s let the sheets fall from her naked body. I touch her softly, letting my hand glide across her skin and tempting curves.
Sometimes I think that, at moments like this, I can feel her mind. I feel secrets, pain, and a need to be hard. No one can know how weak she really is, no one must hurt her again.
Don’t worry love, I won’t let them.
I’m thankful the she lets herself be vulnerable around me. My fingers gently tangle in her dark hair.
She sighs as she wakes, rolling over to face me. Her arms wrap around my neck and she pulls herself tightly against me. Our lean forms press together, flesh to flesh. I feel her breath on my neck, and just before we once against drift off to sleep, I hear her whisper softly.
“ I love you Cirrus...”
