You stand on Chain Alley by the low stone parapet of the ancient Well of Tears, from which in olden times water would be drawn for the livestock and slaves to be sold in the Great Market to the south. Nowadays the well is dry, choked with rubbish and the dust of ages. To the east is the SeaDogs' District, and beyond it Imarr's ocean docks. To the south is the hustle and bustle of the Great Market. To the north is the grim bulk of the mansion of Icera the Slave Mistress, one of Imarr's most powerful slave-lords. The great iron-bound doors are shut tight. A narrow alleyway runs past Icera's mansion, into the heart of the Slave Quarter. To the west, Chain Alley runs past the mansion of the Iron Ring on its way towards Tarkane Street.

Go south into the Great Market.

Go east into the SeaDogs' District.

Go west along Chain Alley.

Go north past Icera's mansion, into the Slave Quarter.

Clamber down into the Well of Tears. You will have to leave any companions behind.
