JANUARY 20, 1999 - We are the champions...   of the week.  PART 2

OK.  A few things for the update.  I was lazy this week.  REAL lazy..  Lets see, I will do this in order.  On the 17th, DDZ made it to #1 again in CLQ!  That makes 2 weeks out of 3 for the year.  Great job all.

On the 17th, there was a little tournament at one of our many local malls.  DDZ in attendance were Mazz, Rookie, SupaFly and me.  Hell, even Wraith showed up and a few [BoM] guys.  [BoM], Wraith and I just went to watch.  And we watched DDZ take home the top three spots.  Rookie taught Mazz how to catch rockets quite nicely.  Final placing was Rookie, Mazz, SupaFly and then Josh B.(send me an EMail please, Josh).

Later that night, we had a second round of CTF against TF.  There was little improvement in their game (if any) and we won 11-1 caps.   RD provided the T3 server for the match.  Thanks RD!  And everyone liked their pings there<wiping brow>.  DDZ will no longer play CTF against TF unless we get a CTF team together full time.  We don't want to have TF look bad with more repeated CTF wins from a DM/Lithium clan.  They are more than welcome to challenge us in DM, Lithium or Tourney.

In closing, I know that there will remain some personal venues between some members of TF and DDZ.  There is nothing I can do about that one.  But I can say that we do not need to bad-mouth TF any longer for any reason.    °Excelsior

JANUARY 3, 1998 - We are the champions...   of the week.

I would like to congratulate all of us for making it to the #1 spot in CLQ.  It is a great beginning for the new year.  Why not try to set a record for # of weeks standing at this spot.  Special congrats go to Swine, Quil, Mazz and Kaman for their incredible placings this week.

Ohh, and SoH.  Please keep the seat you are in warm for yourselves.  I hope we kept that seat warm for you.  :)

For anyone else reading this, there is a DDZ LAN happening the 9th in Rochester, NY.  Visit our Rochester page for more details please.  We would love to gib ya there.    °Excelsior

DECEMBER 13, 1998 - DDZ keeps rackin 'em up

Lets see.  There was a tournament in Syracuse today.  I was expecting Quil and Ocelot to show up for this one since RR was hosting it and giving prizes, but they did not show.  Nobody knew what the prizes were going to be until the match started.  Rookie and I were the only DDZ to speak of there.  If Quil had a better idea of what the prizes were, he would have definitely made it.

The games were about 15mins in length each with four players.  The first round you can guess who won - Rookie won his group and I won mine. :)  A few more games were played, then it ended up being me, Rookie and someone else.  Rookie squeezed some amazing 2:1 shots right out of his ass (we have witnesses!) and beat me by like 5 or 6 frags.  I am such a loser...

I then continued on winning for two more games and was then again the "best loser".  So it ended up being me, Rookie, Steve M. and Tom F. for a 25 minute mowdown on The Slimy Place.  Final scores were me 33, Rookie 26, Steve M. 21 and Tom F. 0(zero).  1st prize was 3 months paid RR Service($120.00 value). 2nd prize was a nice RR Fleece jacket (at least the bitch wont go cold when he is bleeding from now on) and a squishy stress ball (we all know Rookie will use that to its fullest).  3rd prize was also a nice RR Fleece Jacket (ooooooh).

I would say that there was some talent there, now only if they would learn that they had it.  Maybe next tournament I will just watch and maybe give some tips on how to run a decent double elimination comp properly.    °Excelsior

DECEMBER 09, 1998

Welcome to the two newest DDZ Members -  Rookie and Lefty Jr.  I am sure quite a few of you know these two names quite well.  And they do tend to play quite a bit.    °Excelsior

NOVEMBER 29, 1998

I think I will just let the screenshots do most of the talking.  As you can see, SDSC is a clan that will soon be one for everyone to reckon with.  As long as they keep up the practice and teamwork.    °Excelsior

NOVEMBER 06, 1998 - Sorry its so late

Well, with short notice and little preparation, clan DDZ was born again into the DM scene. With ICQ down for the time being, Whiplash decided to use that age-old device called a telephone to round up the troops for the rebirth of DDZ team deathmatch. With the patience of Clan Nocturnal showing, the match was run an hour late and as a 3 vs. 3 on Q2DM1. The match was held on {N}'s server, I thought to myself that we were in trouble, with no preparation of strategy or any practice for teamDM skills I knew this would have been a learning experience. The first match saw us scrambling around trying to gather up all the weapons we could. I decided that an important area to control was the upper rocket launcher, so that's where I parked myself. I stayed up there trying to defend that sucker while I heard many battles going on in the 100 health room and in the arena below me. I gave indication of enemies near the lower rocket launcher but didn't know if my teammates were checking out the messages, since we had no real strategy. I went outside a couple times to get the armor near the hyperblaster and decided to help out WildCard only to watch my rocket miss the intended target and smack my teammate right in the face, needless to say I stayed up there forcing the opponents to go for the lower rocket almost exclusively. The first match went by and we had won! There was no screenshots taken of that match unfortunately but I think we won by 8 or so.

Clan {N} asked for a best outta three and we decided to go for it. It was then that I thought that we had been had. They were toying with us, checking out your strategy <which one?> only to smack us down for 2 in a row. Man my imagination gets the best of me sometimes. I decided that what I did in the first match was good enough and did it again.  Clan {N} was onto me and attacked that position a lot more this match. I was forced from my roost many times, only to find it surprisingly unoccupied when I got back, all armored up of course J. WildCard and Whiplash were dishing out the damage all over the map, I could only hope that they were dishing out more than having it handed to them. Of course they were! I felt bad about not roaming the map more, but I knew that that area was important and decided to stay put.  We were down by 8 or so halfway thru the match, at which point I noticed Clan {N} using "give Rocket Launcher", I tell you I wish I had that binding. We ended up getting ahead by about 5 and holding that lead until the very last minute when the match erupted into a mass FFA at the bottom of the arena. Rockets, bullets and hyperblaster shots were everywhere. The match ended in such a frenzy, my heart was racing, waiting to see what the final score would be. This I got a screenshot of.. 28-31, DDZ wins!!!!

Thanks for the match {N}, and Thanks go out to Whiplash and WildCard for a great match.

Maybe we should practice a little, heheh.

NOVEMBER 06, 1998 - DDZ's first CTF a landslide!!

Well.  Tonight was Death DealerZ's debut ctf match, the first one ever.  And after a week of preparation, we left [TF] in our dust 8-2 on McKinley's.  After the first map, we switched to Outlands II, when Yertle was booted out of the server.  Yes booted by [TF] Sabrina, who shouldn't have been there in the first place since she was only a spectator.  Then, after yours truly brought home the first cap, Sabrina restarted the match!  Hmmm...  sorry honey, but I was just doing my job!  Then into the start of the second match again, Nox asked why Yertle was booted.   And he was subsequently booted as well!  So, being the person I am, I let [TF] know it was B.S. and then I was booted

We will take this match as a win for DDZ.  And [TF](you know who you are) we just want to let you know that we had only been playing CTF together for one week.  Team Finest server will now always be known as Llama Central-ctf to us all.

CORRECTION | The web server being hosted on the actual game server caused terrible LAG.  So I grabbed another 5MB from RoadRunner and moved the monthly stats to there.  The history stats will remain on the old location.  °Excelsior

The DDZ_Lithium_II Server has been updated to v1.23a and the stats are now hosted locally on the server machine due to the logs continuously being over 5MB in size.  If you experience any problems or see anything wrong or odd, please EMail me and let me know.   °Excelsior

8:15am EST | Two new files!  One to shut the IE people up about their Full Screen capabilities.  Grab this file to allow your Netscape to be full screen at will.  The other file is a NAGBuster for those damn pop-up ads or registration reminder screens!  :)  There are a few out there, but this one was quite small and simple to use.  Small amount of resources and does the job VERY well.  Now I have to be off to work.   °Excelsior

OCTOBER 12, 1998

11:20pm EST | I think I have eliminated the ads somewhat.  Please let me know if any popped up on you.  Thanks   °Excelsior

6:44pm EST | The FORUM is up now.  Had to get a TRIPOD account to make it work, dammit.  But it WORKS!  Look for the link here & on the main entrance page.  °Excelsior

I added a chat room(see top).   Had to get a XOOM page to do it, but hey, it was free! :)  Lets take advantage of it and try to get a scheduled time we can meet.  Once the forum is up and working, we can all post times in there.

OCTOBER 11, 1998

Webpage needed to be redesigned to include all 3 divisions now. Syracuse will still remain the main chapter, but for the future we can only hope to see local DDZ clans sprout up anywhere where more than 4 people play in the same area. we are the planning to take over the world, and this is only the beginning.
