You die.
You have a strange feeling.
You can see your own dead body from above.
You can see a dark hooded man standing beside your corpse. He is wiping
the bloody blade of a wicked-looking scythe with slow, measured motions.
Suddenly he stops and seems to look straight at you with his empty...
no, not empty but... orbs...
Death says: COME WITH ME, MORTAL ONE!
He reaches for you and suddenly you find yourself in another place.
Death says: IT IS TIME.
Death lifts his right arm and makes beckoning motion.
You feel quite certain that if you had been alive you would have died from
fear on the spot. Strangely enough, you don't feel anything like that at
all. Just a mild curiosity.
Death says: NO GLANDS, THAT'S WHY.
Death seems to smile a bit. On the other hand that's a bit hard to tell.
It might very well be that that is his normal expression....
Death says: WITHOUT GLANDS YOU FEEL NOTHING, NOTHING AT ALL.
Well, he seems to be right. Instead of being mad with fear you're getting
a little bored. You wish for something to happen real soon.
Death steps closer, reaches out a bony hand straight into your chest,
grabbing something that is within! You feel a strange internal yank as
your very soul is removed for examination... Suddenly Death collects your
bodyless essence with great sweeping motions of his skeletal hands and
puts you in a small glass orb that he inserts into his right eye socket!
You feel a strange blue light from within his eyeless orb penetrate you
as he leans over the chart.
Death says: WHAT A FENCE-CLIMBER WE HAVE HERE! NEVER MADE UP YOUR MIND
IN ALL YOUR LIFE, DID YOU? WELL, DON'T WORRY. YOU WON'T HAVE
TO NOW, EITHER! HAHAHA!
Death says: WELL, I GUESS YOU HAVE DONE YOURS FOR THIS TIME, SEE YOU ON
ARMAGEDDON DAY! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Death removes the orb from his eye and stands up. Suddenly he turns and
walks out of the room through the nearest wall, still holding you in his
skeletal hand! He walks rapidly through a dark winding corridor, down a
staircase to the innermost room in the bottom of the cellar...
Finally, he stops in front of a door bearing the words 'ETERNITY' in black
letters. On the door you can see a small hatch which Death opens with a
flick of his hand. From the open hatch you can hear the moaning murmurs
of a million souls. Slowly he lifts you to the gaping maw of the hatch.
Lars arrives through a rift in the fabric of space.
Lars smiles at you.
Lars starts to sing:
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...
And...
Music slides into Lars' song.
Lars continues singing:
...always look on the bright side of life...
Death whistles in tune.
Lars sings:
Always look on the bright side of life...
Death whistles in tune again.
If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle
- that's the thing.
And... always look on the bright side of life...
Death and Lars whistle in tune.
Lars says: Come on.
Death starts to join in.
And they sing:
Always look on the bright side of life...
They whistle in tune seeming to have much fun...
Lars and Death continue singing:
For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
Death nods.
You must always face the curtain with a bow
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Death makes some bony grimaces trying to grin.
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.
So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath
Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it.
Suddenly you hear "It's Christmas in Heaven" from far away.
Death turns around and rethinks the situation.
Death says: AHEM... WELL... GUESS WE HAD SOME FUN, BUT NOW BACK TO WORK!
Death looks at you with something that must be disgust even if it's hard
to say. His face is not the best suited face for showing expressions, but
you feel fairly confident about this one.
Death says: OH ALL RIGHT THEN! I CAN WAIT. ONE DAY YOU WILL BE MINE ANYWAY!
Suddenly Death hurls you up in the air. You feel a strange sensation as you
pass through the very walls of the building, out in the open air, through
some other walls and fairly surprised horses before you finally stop inside
another building. It seems vaguely familiar...
