In The Beginning the God of Creation, created the world of Britannia. The first race of people to populate the planet was the Humans. Not just any Humans, rather they were humans who were pure of sin and worshiped their God of Creation. Many of these humans became immortal Monks who’s souls will never ascend into heaven or descend into hell, however their souls will be passed on to new bodies through future generations, who will also become Monks. The Monks spread the God of Creation's wisdom to the human race. Some humans of course would tend to commit sin and where taken to Hell by the God Of Darkness and his minions. Mankind began to both fear and respect the God of Darkness for keeping Britannia free from evil.

After the God of Creation saw his success with the Human race, he soon began to create another race. A race similar to the Human race, only more understanding of nature and it’s creatures. The Woodland elf as they would prefer to be called, was for a long time pure and worshiped the God of Creation and followed his ways. After many years passed, a new breed of Elf evolved, the Dark Elves, who were intent on defying the God of Creation and to wreak havoc on the human race. The God of Creation was not pleased with the evil actions of the Dark Elves and therefore sought aid from the God of Darkness.

The God of Darkness created his own race to rid the world of Dark Elves. These evil breeders are called Vampires. The Vampires Succeeded in exterminating the world of the Dark elves, and as a reward for their work, the Vampire race was allowed to live on the surface world known as Britannia. However their thirst for blood was uncontrollable and they too became a threat to both the Human and Elven race. The Vampires became knowledgeable in the arcane arts as well and began to summon souls from Hell. This was deemed unacceptable to both the God of Darkness as well as the God of Creation. Now the God of Darkness has but only one focus, to return to the surface world and to insure the vampire race returns to hell in which it had spawned.

Amidst all the problems between the races, The Elven race has begun to turn its back on the Gods. They are angry with the Gods for allowing the Vampire race to kill their brethren. Most of the Elven population began to incorporate the Dark Elf beliefs. They no longer follow the pure ways of the God of Creation and they no longer have respect for the God of Darkness. Elves begun to live lives of sin much in the way their Dark Elf brothers had lived. The Elven race believes that the Human race is inferior due to their loyalty to the Gods. Many humans were killed for their beliefs and other humans were converted to evil Elven ways. The God of Creation knew that this spread of sin needed to be stopped before the whole of the human entirety was tainted impure.

The God of Creation once again asked for the aid of the God of Darkness and the dark Lady Lanfear, also know in the ancient tongue as the Daughter of Darkness. Seeing all of the problems between the races on the surface world, The God Of Darkness decided to launch a full assault against the Undead races, the Elven race as well as any humans that had been caught assisting or supporting the Elven way of life.

The God of Darkness has realized that he has a great task ahead of him. He then asked for the aid of his daughter and all the Children of Darkness to engulf the surface world to kill and capture all impure souls back to Hell. For only Humans truly have souls. Together they are known as "The Gods of Darkness." The Gods of Darkness are not alone in their Quest to rid the world of evil. The Monks of Sosaria were also asked by the God of Creation to fight along side of the Gods of Darkness in their struggle to reap the world of impure souls.
