How it all began...

Oh, where should I begin with this one?
It all started in 1995, with a chat room on IRC.  It was the type of place where 'everbody knows your name', and we had a regular group of 30+ people that came in and shared their daily lives with each other.  I was one of these people, and so was Joey.  I'd known his best friend through this channel for a long time, and this said best friend introduced us.
So was the meeting of GroovyGrrl and Nightscape.
We chatted for three years and learned a lot about each other.  Occasionaly we'd call each other.  We sent Christmas cards and pictures, and as time went on we began growing closer.  In February of '97, Joey offered to let me crash on his couch when I mentioned coming down someday to meet him and his friends.  I was somewhat involved at the time, but the thought stayed in the back of my mind.  In July of '97, I called him back and asked if the offer was still open.  It was.  So I bought a bus ticket and was going to come down for a month or so, meet some new people, and then go home.
Looking back, I laugh at myself.  *grin*
I came to Georgia from Colorado in August of '97.  The minute I stepped off the bus after that long, three day trip, Joey and I both knew that something was happening.  We grew very close, very quickly.  In October of that year, we got engaged, and on January 20th, 1999, we were married.
In August of '99 I gave birth to our son, Joshua David Smith.  At the time of this writing he's a little over a year old.  He'll have his own pages on this site soon, as I am probably an overproud mother, if there is such a thing.
