Xenogears (c) Square, 1998 Release Date: 10.21.1998 2 Discs, Playstation Suggested Retail Price:$49.99 Developer: Square Publisher: Square Electronic Arts Xenogears FAQ (c)Yong Guan Sam Gibson Izlude 1998, Unpublished work for our site for version history Ver-0.20: Friday, December 10, 1998 Wow, I can't believe I'm able to update again. Lots of additions to the Walkthrough. Its now all the way up to the attack on the Thames. I also added in some of the levels required to get some of the abilities (not much) Ver-0.10b: Friday, December 10, 1998 Since I'm off for winter break now I updated the FAQ. Basically misc. spelling errors, but I also added the walkthrough up to the Thames, a Table of Contents, and a few more FAQs at the bottom. Ver-0.10: Thursday, December 09, 1998 Okay, finals are coming, and all 3 of us are really busy. Since we said that we would release this faq to mainstream sites this week, we will. There are a LOT of missing holes, and we've gotten the walkthrough up to Kislev. I also got the Game Shark codes, but am missing some codes. The grading system for characters is in, but not completed yet. Ver-0.01: Saturaday, November 28, 1998 This is the initial release, the 3 of us has come together and combined our 2 FAQs together. I have yet to release one of mine, but SamULGib has. Included: Characters, Walkthrough Disc 1 up to Stalactite Cave, a lot of the appendix. Thie FAQ is very messy right now, I'll clean it up later. There are also missing holes of info that I'll eventually get. ************************************************************************** T A B L E O F C O N T E N T S ************************************************************************** i)Information -Character Descriptions ii)Walkthrough Disc 1 iii)Walkthrough Disc 2 (not implemented) iv) Miscellaneous -Game Shark Codes v)Appendix -Items -Equipment -Gear Parts/Upgrades -Stores vi)FAQ's vii)Credits ************************************************************************** I N F O R M A T I O N ************************************************************************** C H A R C T E R S Fei Fong Wong Birthplace: ?? Att: C Age: 18 HP/Def: B Gender: Male Agil: B Height: 5'11" Eth: C Weight: 147 lbs. EP/Spells: C Specialty: Martial Arts Overall: B Gear: Weltall, Weltall 2, Xenogears Gears: A Fei is obviously the main character. However, unlike the last squaresoft main character (cloud) he isn’t the best in every area, in fact he’s not even the "best" character. However he is probably the most well rounded. Fei starts out with high attack power but he is eventually surpassed by several other characters. He has a high defense, plus as the main character odds are he’ll have the most up to date armor. He has a few good spells, most notably inner healing, and iron valor. And finally he is one of the faster characters. When it comes to gears, Fei get stronger later on. Weltall isn’t particularly great, it is very well balanced but doesn’t stand out. Weltall 2 has some very strong special skills (system id), and Xenogears is immensely powerful. All in all, Fei is a good character, and since he’s forced upon your party almost all the time, that’s a very good thing. Elhaym(Elly) Van Houten Birthplace: Solaris Att: D Age: 18 HP/Def: D Gender: Female Agil: D Height: 5'6" Eth: A Weight: 101 lbs. EP/Spells: F Specialty: Rods Overall D Gear: Vierge, Reguras Gears: C Elly is essentially the stereotype female magic user, although with a twist, she has the worst arsenal of spells. Her attack power lags behind everyone else’s, she has terrible defense, and she’s very slow. She would make a powerful spell caster except that her spells frequently "fail" and do only a fraction of the potential damage. Elly does have a decent gear though, Vierge is one of the fastest gears, aerods is nice for taking out large groups (solaris soldiers), and it does a decent amount of damage. The HP might lag behind a little, but it’s still a nice gear. Elly is really one of the least useful characters. Citan Uzuki Birthplace: Solaris Att: A Age: 29 HP/Def: A Gender: Male Agil: A Height: 6'1" Eth: B Weight: 150 lbs. EP/Spells: B Specialty: Martial Arts, Swords Overall: A Gear: Heimdal, Fenrir Gears: A There is simply no other way to say it, Citan is the best character. He is the fastest, has the highest hp, some good spells and spell defense, and has a nice attack. And that’s before he gets a sword. Once he gets his sword, his attack power gets around 1.5 times as powerful as the second highest attacker. Citan is simply put unstoppable. His gear isn’t really special, very much like Weltall, however, once it gets a sword it becomes one of the leading damage inflicting gears. It is advisable to use Citan in any and every occasion. Bartholomew Fatima Birthplace: Bledivak, Aveh Att: C Age: 18 HP/Def: C Gender: Male Agil: C Height: 6'1" Eth: D Weight: 158 lbs. EP/Spells: D Specialty: Whips Overall: C Gear: Brigandier, Advari Gears: D Bart is a fair character. He has above average speed, a good attack etc. His main flaws is a rather low hp for a fighter, plus no particularly good spells, or at least none that really justify use. Other then that he is a decent character but doesn’t really make the cut for extensive use. His gear starts out good, as it’s the first heavy gear available, plus it is the first to receive a special skill, and he’s the first to get an omnigear, these will put him a step a head momentarily. But once even heavier gears appear and other gears get better, his gear is really obsolete. He’s an average character, but nothing special. Rico Banderas Birthplace: Kislev Att: B Age: 30 HP/Def: B Gender: Male Agil: F Height: 7'0" Eth: D Weight: 352 lbs. EP/Spells: B Specialty: Wrestling Overall: B Gear: Stier Gears: A Rico is the stereotype warrior with out much in ways of intelligence, however it is done with a twist. Rico has one of the best sets of spells. He has spells to boost his attack, defense and ether defense. Other then this he is extremely strong, having the best attack next to Citan. He also has the second highest hp, and the best defense. His biggest flaw is the nonexistence of speed. Rico is the slowest character, and his performance suffers from it. His gear is one of the best. Although it’s slow, it makes up for it in power. It eventually has the highest HP, and one of the better attacks. Rico is one of the better characters, in certain situations. In battles that require speed (Id) he is worthless. Billy Lee Black Birthplace: Aquavy Islands Att: B Age: 16 HP/Def: D Gender: Male Agil: B Height: 5'7" Eth: A Weight: 130 lbs. EP/Spells: B Specialty: Guns Overall: B Gear: Renmazuo Gears: B Billy is the second best character. He is the group healer, possessing the only group healing spell, the only revival spell, plus a status healing spell. His HP is rather low, as is his defense, and he has only average speed, but he makes up for it in other areas. His guns are very powerful, and can inflict tremendous amounts of damage. His ether gun specifically is very useful. Also his healing powers, and ether defense mark him as great. His gear is also good. It has good speed, but doesn’t sacrifice power, and it’s ether gun is invaluable in certain situations (Tower of Babel). He’s definitely worth using in most situations. Maria Balthasar Birthplace: Solaris Att: F Age: 13 HP/Def: F Gender: Female Agil: F Height: ?? Eth: C Weight: ?? EP/Spells: C Specialty: None Overall: D Gear: Siebzehn Gears: A Maria is a markedly different character as she doesn’t use death blows. In fact she is utterly useless physically. In power, speed, and HP she is lagging tremendously. She has a few decent attack spells, but is to weak to use them. However she possesses one of, if not the best gears. Her gear is extremely powerful, albeit slow, possesses a large HP, and inflicts a lot of damage. If you factor in her characters performance she is a pretty worthless character, but always worth using in her gear. Chu-chu Birthplace: Some Forest(?) Att: F Age: ?? HP/Def: F Gender: Female Agil: F Height: ?? Eth: C Weight: ?? EP/Spells: C Specialty: None Overall: F Gear: Enlarged self Gears: F Along with being the most terrifying factor of the game, Chu-Chu is one of the more worthless. Like Maria, she has no death blows, a few of her spells are decent, but in physical performance she is the worst. As a ear she isn’t much better. Although, she possesses a gear healing spell, and gets better via leveling, rather then purchasing parts. She still has no offense and can’t use combos. You can make her better via drive, but that’s expensive and is really put to better use on the other characters. I’ve heard a few rumors that she can become the most powerful of the gears via drive, but I’m skeptical of that. Anyway, as a giant she is purely terrifying. All in all the least useful character. Emerelda Birthplace: Zeboim Att: C Age: 4000+ HP/Def: D Gender: Female Agil: B Height: ?? Eth: A Weight: ?? EP/Spells: B Specialty: Using body as weapon Overall: B Gear: Crescens Gears: B Emerelda is what Elly should have been. She is fast, a moderate fighter, and a good magician. Her spells are just like Elly’s except they cost less, and never fail. Her main flaw is her low HP. Her gear is the fastest of the lot. It can gain several attacks for every one by a slow gear. All in all she’s a pretty useful character, maybe not a good as the top notch, but still useful. ************************************************************************** W A L K T H R O U G H D I S C 1 ************************************************************************** Enemies are set up like this Name(Size, R for regular, G for Gear): XP/G, item received Chapter I-Lahan Village Stuff to get: 200G Aquasol x5 Eyeball Aquasol S Power Ring RPS Badge 120G Mermaid Tear Enemies: (World Map-Grassland) Lil' Kobold(R): 3/0, Fencing Cap Hobgob(R): 2/0, Hob-Jerky(Hob-Steak if burned) Hopper(R): 8/0, Fencing Wear When you get control of Fei, examine the bed to get your hidden money, 200G. Rest in bed if you like, there isn't much point to do so. You can examine the paintings to get a close-up view of them. Walk out of your room. In the northern room, you can talk to the maid about your arrival to Lahan. In the western room, check both barrels to get 2 Aquasols. If you jump and examine the northeastern corner, you'll get a spider web, used way later in the game. When you're ready, head upstairs. You can talk to the people upstairs to learn a bit about what's going on in Lahan, when you're done, head outside. You can talk to Dan outside, he asks you to steal Alice away from Timothy, it really doesn't matter what you choose, it doesn't seem to affect the game in any way. Go around to the back of the house you came out of, and talk to the old man in the field with the cow. Keep talking to him until he gives you 2 Aquasols. In the middle of town, there is a well, jump down the well. When Fei gets back out, you'll get an eyeball. Keep jumping down the well until you get an Aquasol S, and a Power Ring. The woman standing by the cow north of the well will give you an Aquasol if you tell her that it isn't weird. When that's done, go to the southeast house, where you'll find a boy who wants to play rock-paper-scissors. If you can manage to beat him 5 times in a row, you'll get an RPS Badge, not used till way later. Go on downstairs and talk to the old lady. Tell her that you like Lahan, and she'll give you 120G. Go on to the bar, the northeastern building. Talk to the people. the guy in blue will ask you if you have a problem, tell him that drinking won't solve anything. He'll give you a Mermaid Tear, also used much later on in the game. There's not much else to do, explore the village a bit. The north- western house is a general store, the southwestern house is a beginner's hall. If you go there, you'll meet Lucca from Chrono Trigger, making a cameo appearance. She'll offer to explain about the memory cube, don't let her, or she'll take 28G from you. You can leave the village via the southern entrance to go to the world map, not much to do there, cept to fight a little, some enemies might give you some fencing wear. When you're satisfied with your exploration, go to the eastern house and talk to the lady standing outside. She'll let you in. Talk to Alice's aunt if you want, but head upstairs when that's done. Alice needs you to go to Citan's house in the mountains. Chapter II-Mountain Path Stuff to get: Aquasol x3 Bird Egg Spider Midori's Ring Enemies: (Mountain Path) Jackal(R): 3/0, - Hobgob(R): 2/0, Hob-jerky(Hob-steak if burned) Leave Lahan via the northern exit to end up in the Mountain Path. You'll start off in a passage, head north to the memory cube, save if you want. Go eastward and follow the path going up. Keep with the ascending path, turning east, you'll reach a ledge with a chest, nab it for an Aquasol. Head back to the memory cube. In between the white sign and the cube, there's a narrow passage going up to a lone tree. Climb it and jump through the tree. You'll find a bird egg, however the mother of the egg will follow you, poking you for 1 damage every so often if you don't return it. If you want, go ahead and return it, it will only be used as a background item to make you a bit fatter soon. Follow the path to the west of the cube, until it winds up to a young boy. Talk to him to learn about running+jumping. Use his technique to jump the ledge west of him. Go north across the bridge. Drop down and take the chest under the bridge for another Aquasol. Head back and follow the path until you reach another white sign. Jump through the tree west of the sign, and examine the spider that's crawling up and down the tree. You'll get a spider. You won't use the spider till much later in the game. After viewing the imagery, climb the first spiral staircase you see. Stop at the door, and turn the camera so you can see the southern door. Open it, then examine the area where the chicken flew out of for an Aquasol. The northern door leads to a bedroom. If you finish climbing and enter the doorway on top, you'll be brought into some kind of a room with a ladder. Climb it if you want to view the telescope. Back on the ground floor, head to the east side of the house, and go north a big. Jump behind the flowerbeds sitting next to the house, and examine the flowerbeds from that side. You'll get Midori's ring, which won't show up in your inventory, and also will not be used until much later. When all's ready, head inside the house, and talk to Yui. If you got the bird egg, you'll give it to her. Yui'll also tell you that Citan is in the backyard. Talk to Midori if you like, then head outside. Meet Citan while you try to enter the back building. Do as he suggests and enter the building and examine the object in front of you. When all the dialog is finally over, it'll be night time, and Fei'll be on his way. If you gave Yui that egg, Fei'll have gained 22 lbs. Go back to the mountain path, and take your time going back to Lahan, there aren't any random battles. On the way back, you'll see some gears fly by, towards Lahan. Chapter III-Fallen Shadows No Items No Enemies Continue on into Lahan, save if you'd like. To your amazement, Lahan is burning down. Eventually, Fei will jump into a gear, and you'll face your first gear battle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story Battle Musha Mk100(G): 90/50, - Musha Mk100(G): 90/50, - Real easy fight. It should only take you 1 X, and a T the next turn to kill 1 of them, then just use a level 1 combo to kill the other. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter IV-Into the Woods Stuff to get: Aquasol Enemies: (Mountain Path, look above) (World Map-Grassland, look above) (Blackmoon Forest) Armor Grub(R): 35/0, Bizfruit Forest Elf(R): 21/0, Zetasol Hobgob(R): 2/0, Hob-jerky(Hob-steak if burned) Jackal(R): 3/0, - After the fate of Lahan and it's citizens are revealed, Fei awakes to fine himself at blame. You'll be told to leave. You can go back to the mountain path, and Citan's house, but there isn't much point to do so, as there is nothing to do but random fights. Citan suggests that you go to Aveh via the Blackmoon Forest, so when you're ready, head just southwest of Lahan Ruins, and go into the forest. Head just south a bit and a short sequence will ensue. Follow the path into the opening, then turn east, hugging the wall. You'll see a single rock, jump onto it, and then the rock formation west of it. Keep jumping up until you reach the fallen tree. Follow it west, then drop south to the other downed tree. Pick up the pouch for an Aquasol. Keep following the tree south, and drop at the end. You'll see a hobgob jumping up the roots of a tree. Mimic him to get up to the ledge. If you examine the hobgob, you'll fight him. Save if you like, then follow the ledge northeast. Jump across the short gap to the downed tree. Fight the hobgob to your left, and quickly jump away from the rolling boulder afterwards. If not, then climb back up here. Go farther west on the tree, and meet Elly. A fight with 2 Forests Elves will happen. Chapter V-Girl in Forest Stuff to get: Arcane Rod Aquasol Survival Tent Enemies: (Blackmoon Forest, see above) Elly will have joined you. Now, if you fight those hobgobs, kill them with a fire-elemental attack to get a hob-steak. After breaking camp, head south. There'll be a white sign, and a path leading up. Go up until you reach another sign. If you go north, you can go back to the first section of the forest, then back to Lahan. Not much reason to do so, however. Going south a bit, can jump the gap following the hobgob, but don't do so. Instead, head west and make a jump to the chest on the other side. It's an Arcane Rod. If you drop to your southeast, then you can pick up the pouch with an Aquasol inside. Head northeast back to the path. This time, jump that gap going south. Follow the path going southwest, and drop down to pick up the chest with a survival tent inside. Save if you like. Cross the bridge west, then just head southwest into the opening between the cliffs. You'll get a lot of dialog, and Elly will be under attack. Chapter VI-Broken Silence No items Enemies: (Blackmoon forest, see above) If you need to save do so now, but the next fight isn't any hard. When you're ready follow Elly into the path. You'll end up fighting a Rankar Dragon without a gear. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle Rankar Dragon(G): 348/0, Scales Just defend for a couple rounds, then Citan will come by with your gear. Throw a couple X, then T-S combos at it whenever you can. The fight will be over pretty quickly. There's no need to use boosters, but if you want to finish quicker, use them your first round. He'll annoy you by slowing you, but just wait, or booster up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- More dialog, Elly will leave, Citan will join. Citan will also suggest going to Dazil. Chapter VII-Path to Aveh No Items Enemies: (Blackmoon Forest, see above)-only if you turn around Head southwest to leave the forest. While leaving, you will see a battleship fly by. Citan will explain. Chapter VIII-Dazil No items Enemies: (Blackmoon Forest, see above)-only if go back in (World Map-Grassland, see above) (World Map-Desert) Sand Shark(R): 121/0, - Sand Man(R): 60/75, - (Endless Desert) Sand Shark(R): 121/0, - Sand Man(R): 60/75, - You can run around the desert area to fight Sand Men, your first source of income. Don't go too far northwest though, you'll end in an endless desert. If that winds up happening, just keep going south, you'll end up in the world map. When all's ready, go into Dazil, you can't miss it, it's also a point on your map. Not much to do, explore a bit if you want though. There is an item shop, and in the tavern/inn, you can meet Big Joe, though it is unnecesary. Whenever you're ready, go to the Ethos shop in the western part of town. After hearing that they can't help you, return to the buggy shop on the other side of town. There should be a buggy outside, and Citan will suggest that you rent it. Go in and talk to the guy behind the desk. He'll rent Citan the buggy. Citan will then leave you. The clerk will warn you about the dangers of the desert. I say let Citan go alone, he has enough HP to back himself up. Anyhow, leave Dazil and enter the desert, which is directly west of Dazil. Follow the Aveh gears up(?), no compass, so I'll just assume that's north. The next screen shows some kind of UFO. Just keep heading north for 2 screens. More events will happen, and you'll get a bike, you don't control it however. You'll eventually be stopped, and end up fighting 2 Troopers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story Battle Trooper(G): 180/250, Extra Ar Trooper(G): 180/250, Extra Ar It should only take 2 X's to finish 1 off, so don't waste your fuel with boosters. The 2nd one can be taken out with combos. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the fight, you'll meet Graphf. He'll introduce you to Wyrm. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle Wyrm(G): 1044/0, Eyeball He'll counterattack everything with Slurp, sucking your fuel away. Boosting would just waste fuel in this fight, as he doesn't kill you very fast. Your X will not even hit him, so just use T to charge your Attack Level, then let loose some T-S combos. He'll slowly die. It should only take 3 T-S combos. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- You'll get captured by Aveh soldiers. Chapter IX-Desert Attack! Stuff to get: Survival Tent Rosesol Extra Ar+1 Leather Vest Enemies: (Aveh Sand Cruiser) Aveh Soldier(R): 75/35, Rosesol Aveh Corporal(R): 75/40, Leather Hat You'll wind up in a jail cell, with Citan. There's a savepoint in the cell. After some dialog, you'll be free to move, save if you want, then talk to Citan. Talk to him again, and he'll ask if you want to rest or not. If you want to hear more, then talk more, otherwise rest. He'll eventually start repeating himself, so you'll have to rest sooner or later. Some creepy dialog with the Emperor will also show. Bart will attack the sand cruiser that same night. You'll go back to Fei. When you have control, leave your room and head east. The next room with have a chest containing a Survival Tent. Leave that room and head west, shutting the doors by hitting the switches on the right side of each door. In the room west of your cell is a chest with a Rosesol. If your head gets covered in sand, you'll have to redo this all, but do not have to reset because it will start you up right after Bart's attack. This section is annoying. There will be random fights, and if you take too long, panels on the floor will fall. Also, in the fights, fire will come from the engine room and hit your characters for about 30. Head east on the platform. Instead of climbing the stairs going up, take the northern ladder to the higher platform. Go down the other side, and head west to pick up a chest with a Extra Ar+1. Go back to the stairs and take them up. Keep following the path and take a north to pick up a leather vest. Go back and follow the path to take the ladder up. No worries on this floor, but still random fights. I don't think there's a way to climb the boxes, so just circle around them and take the ladder going up. Just do as Citan says and move South on the Crane. Don't worry about falling, nothing will happen. Don't take too long though, or else Weltall will sink into the sand. Fei'll jump into Weltall, and fight Brigandier. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Fight Brigandier(G): This shouldn't be too hard of a fight. You might want to use booster if you want to end the fight quicker, but you'll be stuck in the Stalactite Cave with a bit less fuel, but that shouldn't affect too much. He'll Wild Smile, then just attack. Just keep hitting him with X, then a T-S combo, and he'll eventually fall. If your X isn't hitting too much, then use something else. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the fight, you'll both drop into quicksand. Chapter X-Stalactite Cave Stuff to get: Gold Nugget Iron GWhip Enemies: (Stalactite Cave) Sand Man(R): 60/75, - Tin Robo(G): 680/210, Extra Ar+1 Medusoid(G): 689/0, - Nomad Fix Bot(G): 420/200, - May Fly(G): 1410/690, Extra Ar+1 Bart will have joined you at this point, and you'll be introduced to using gears in a dungeon. They allow you to get off them, but I highly urge you not to. If you fight a Nomad Fix Bot, don't kill it and let it refill you. Head due south by southwest of where you started, and you'll notice a boulder in the wall, examine it, and both of you will push it out of the way. Head south to pick up the chest for a Gold Nugget, then go west into the Cavern entrance. Just follow the extremely long pathway southwest. On the next screen still continue going southwest. Talk to the gear if you want, but continue going southwest into the next area. There will be some kind of cave house thing in the next area, go to it. There isn't much point, but if you want, save before entering. Go in. You'll meet Balthasar in there. After some dialog, talk to him again, and he'll tell you how to get out. If you talk to him again, he'll offer to sell you gear parts, or tell you about gear parts. Buy from him if you want. He will also tell you where the sensors are. Whenever you're ready, leave Bal's house, and head northeast by jumping up the platforms. Head through the exit leading northeast. You should now be above where you were before. Continue going east. In the next room just follow the long path northeast. Exit the pathway and you'll end up in the room where you entered the Cave in, just on the top ledge. It is very important that you do not fall down, or you'll have to climb all the way back up. Head north, then west, and turn off the sand sensor. When the light is off, then fall down. Go into the southwest cavern again, and continue through the long pathway leading southwest. In the waterfall room, just head northwest again, and when you reach the status-telling gear, go west, rather than south. Turn north, and you'll notice some ledges laid out for you to jump through. Do so in your gears to turn off the sand sensor, and again to get the chest with the Iron GWhip. Go back to Balthasar, and talk with him. He'll open the sand gates and let you out. Before leaving, I highly suggest that you get the best gear equipment that Bal has to offer, a boss later will be quite hard. You can still return to him to buy gear parts, he even tells you about Calamity. Leave his cave, and head west then south, through the sand barrier into the next area. Get off your gear, and hop on the gondola to your east. Hit the red button over there to turn on the main power, then go back on the gondola and hop onto your gears. Take the elevator to your west down. Turn south, and drop down. Hop your way back up to the savepoint on the other side. You should really save, as you'll fight Calamity next. When you're ready, go on south, and hit the button on the elevator. Go south after getting off the elevator, and drop off the road. You'll see Calamity fly by. You can't jump to the other side, so you'll have to turn east, at which point, Calamity will attack. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Fight Calamity(G): 0/0, - This is one of the hardest fights because you cannot heal yourself yet. You'll probably want to booster up in the very beginning. Just hit him with either S, or X to charge your attack level, S if X keeps missing. Use T-S combos with Fei at level 1, and T-T for Bart if he doesn't have T-S yet. You might try to use Wild Smile with Bart on him. When Calamity gets up, Fei'll handle it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Say Adios to the cavern, head east, then take the ledge up and west. Jump onto the road, and take a south to leave. Chapter XI-Pirate's Lair Stuff to get: Iron Whip Enemies: (World Map-Desert-2) Neo Tin Robo(G): 1110/150, Extra Ar+1 Trooper(G): 250/100, Extra Ar Sand Man(R): 60/75, - Sand Shark(R): 121/0, - (World Map-Grassland)-same as before You'll be on the Yggdrasil when all the dialog is over. Citan will be in your party. The building next to Weltall is the gear shop, if you feel right, go and upgrade your gears. You can check out the gears by talking to the people in the hanger, just step up to the gear, and the screen will change. Right now, there are only 3 gears. Leave the gear hanger. the first room in the hallway to your east is empty right now, but it will be important later. The west room is the quarters, go there if you need to rest. The 2nd door to the east is the doctor, go there to weigh yourself, that's about it. The third door to your west is the elevator leading to the bridge, don't go there yet. The northern most door leads to the 'Gun Room', named after the guns hanging on the wall(?). Maison is there selling items, and telling you stories. There is also a savepoint in that room. You might want to stock up on some zetasols if you don't have too many, you never know when they might come in handy. Taking the spiral staircase down from the gun room leads to 2 quarters, and going west from there leads to the engine room. Nothing important there. Get use to the Yggdrasil, you'll be seeing a lot of it. Whenever you're ready, take the elevator up to the bridge level. The ladder leads up to deck, usually inaccessible, and the southern door leads to the bridge. There is a savepoint here also. Before talking to Bart and Sigurd, talk to the crew. Franz will give you a sound test, and others will show you the map. When you're ready, talk to Sigurd. Some sequences follow. Maison lead you to the kitchen, follow him. Even more dialog. When you finally regain control, Fei'll be alone. Talk to the people in the kitchen, the lady behind the counter sells stuff. Before exploring more, go meet up with Bart. Leave the room. The northeastern room, the one on the east wall is where you want to be. More dialog follows. After leaving the control room, Fei'll again be alone. The room west of the control room is the quarters, go there to rest and save. You should walk around and talk to everybody. The southeastern room is Bart's room, enter it, against the sign's warning. Pick up the chest for an Iron Whip, then try to leave. A short sequence will happen. He hints to you where he's going to be. You can leave the Lair through the northwest path. Not much to do outside, you can visit Bledivak, but no events will happen yet. You can return to Dazil, or even as far back as Lahan, again no events. You can't cross the Kislev border yet, so don't bother. The purpose is to mainly gain exp, and money. If you want to go to Aveh, just follow the southern mountain ranges, you can't miss the city, it's on top of a mountain. You won't be sucked into some endless desert anymore either. I don't think you can return to the Stalactite Cave, ever. When you've quenched for thirst for exploration, take the elevator down to the Yggdrasil dock. It's pointless to go down to the gear hangers of the Lair, but you can do so if you want to. Get there by east, then south and down another elevator. Otherwise, try to enter the Yggdrasil. Tell Bart that he can have a second of your time. Now walk around and go down to the gear hangers. Just make a east once the elevator stops, and hop up to the platform. Talk to the guy standing in front of Weltall. And again, more dialog. When you regain control, go back up to the residential area. Do any shopping you think that is necessary, then go to the quarters. Save up, then take a nap. During the middle of the night, Bart's Lair will be attacked. While this is happening, you can talk to the people, and still do some shopping. You'll inevitably have to go down the elevator though. Short dialogs, then some fights. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle Sword Knight(G): 1500/300, - You get Bart and 2 of his pirates. Don't waste fuel with boosters, just attack him to death. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle Aegis Knight(G): 1500/300, - Only Citan in his new Heimdal this time. Just attack it to death. Save your fuel for the final fight, so don't waste it with boosters. He'll weaken your armor, but it should be over in 4 rounds. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle Wand Knight(G): 1500/200, Extra Ar+2 Wand Knight(G): 1500/200, Extra Ar+2 You get Bart and Citan this time around. Again don't use booster, and just attack 'em to death. His main attack is the Beam attack. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle Claw Knight(G): 1500/300, Extra Ar+2 Just Fei for this one. Again, save fuel, and just attack it to death. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle Schpariel(G): 17890/1700, Beam Coat Ok, now use your boosters, unless you're low on fuel. Not much choice, just attack it to death and hope for the best. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter XII-Operation Aveh Stuff to get: H&S Badge Enemies: (World Map-Desrt-2)-see above (World Map-Grassland)-see above You'll be in front of the Yggdrasil the next morning. Do whatever preparations you think are necessary, then get to Aveh. You can do this either by walking through the desert on Gear/foot, or taking the Yggdrasil. To get to Aveh, just follow the southern mountain range. The person standing next to Sigurd will teach you how to use the Yggdrasil. You'll have to get out of the Yggdrasil before entering the city. Bledivak is split up into sections, each symbolized by a 3D green upside-down pyramid. The red one leads you back to the World Map. Before you even enter the first section, you'll wind up seeing a sequence with the docking of a Geblar aerial battleship. You'll also be introduced to Ramsus, Miang, Shakhan, Vanderkaum, and even Margie. Back to your party. The minute you walk in, someone advertises about a hotel, doesn't matter your answer. There will be several peddlers trying to sell you products, some have uses, some don't. If you intend to buy any, don't answer anything when you are offered to buy them, wait till the price gets lowered to 8G. If you go to the northwestern most stall, talk to the lady and a short scene will ensue where a kid will take a fruit, and give it to another kid who runs away. Follow them through some kind of path, and talk to them. You can give them money, it's 1000G. If you pay them now, later on(2nd disc), they will pay you back 100G everytime you talk to them and leave the screen, which isn't a lot for then, but do whatever you want. Also, in that same place is a boy in the northeastern corner. Talk to him and play him hide-and seek. You can try to find him the next couple times alone, just for fun, if so, skip the next paragraph. He won't go away until you enter a building or something, so into a house and come right back up. To locate his first hiding location, go back to the main street. Go north, and just under the arch, but don't leave the area yet. Turn the camera so that you can see the other side, the boy is hiding behind the archway on the eastern side. Go in another building and come back out. Climb the ladder on the western side of the main street, and to the south, there should be an Ethos shop. The boy is behind the barrels to the west of the Ethos shop. Go in and out of a building again. North of the Hotel on the Western side of town is a little archway. The boy is hiding behind the archway, rotate the camera to see him. In and out again. Go back to the entrance of town, and take an east turn. Between the wall of the city, and the wall of the ledge, there's the boy hiding. he's barely visible. Talk to him and he'll give you the H&S Badge. There is an Ethos Store in town, where you can get Gear parts, also a weapons and armor shop. Explore and talk to everybody. The restaurant on the Western side of town refills you HP/EP a bit, cept the delicious meal will give you full HP/EP. They will all raise your weight though. When you're set go to the hotel, where a nun will help you. Go to the room that she tells you to, and speak with her. Also, you could've gotten in the room through the window, before entering the hotel that is, it doesn't matter which way you meet her. Now, leave the market via the northern exit. Go north on the section map to Shakhan Square, then enter through the southern entrance. The camel guy on the west sells you unusable items, but if you want to fill up your inventory, but them. The eagle-boy will tell you about the gold nugget in the restaurant if you give him a minigear. This is unnecessary as the FAQ will tell you how to get it later. You can get a balloon from the odd-looking fellow in front of the middle western tent. The southeastern tent sells you beer. You'll gain weight if you buy any. After getting some, the screen will begin to wobble, then the clerk will offer you Durian Juice, Aveh and Nisan water. All have no use, and all go for 10G, buy them if you want to fill your inventory. Talk to the people in the Square, explore. When you're ready, leave the square through the northern exit, but Bart will have to stay behind. Go on up to the castle. A man will tell you about the Tournament, and Citan will suggest that Fei join. Go to either of the stalls and sign in with a fake name, which doesn't matter. Talk and explore if you want, but leave the castle when you're ready. Head back to the open air market. Climb the east stairs from the main street, and go to the back of the buildings. There will be someone doing their laundry. Talk to her, and the man sitting by a grate. Go back to the nun in the hotel and talk with her. You'll still need to find the key. Go back to the laundry lady, and talk to the old man sitting by the grate again. Answer either of the bottom 2 answers, and you'll get the key. Go back to the hotel, and talk to the nun again. Your plan is now complete, so you are free to do as you choose. The only thing different that you can do is play the mini games in the middle western tent in Shakhan Square. The first game on the left is 'Merry Go Pop'. Cost is 10G. The person in the game will explain the rules. You get about 70 seconds. You can get negative points, so don't start hitting white ones thinking you are immune to them with 0 points. Under hard, the room flashes, so it's harder to distinguish the colors. There doesn't seem to be a difference between the difficulties and the prizes. up to 790 pts. Aquasol - value:20G 800-990 pts. Rosesol - value:100G 1000-1210 pts. Iron Helmet - value:200G The second game from the left is 'Whose Balloons'. Cost 10G, each bingo will get you 5 more items, not 5 times, so 1 bingo gets you 5, gets you 10, so on. 0-24 Balloons Aquasol - Value: 20G 25-29 Balloons Rosesol - Value: 100G 30-34 Balloons Aquasol S - Value: 100G The last room is the 'Mirror of Truth'. It just shows you fatter if you are weighing more than normal, and vice-versa. When leaving the fun house, you'll be confronted by someone from Lahan. Do whatever else you think is necessary, then go back and talk to Citan. Get some rest. Chapter XIII-The Tournament Stuff to get: Wedding Dress Gold Nugget Rosesol S x2 Aquasol S x2, Survival Tent Hob-jerky x2 Hob-meat Cobra Cracka Iron Mail x4 Enemies: (Fatima Castle) Aveh Guard(R): 242/45, Aquasol Aveh Guard(R): 242/45, Aquasol(Bigger Version) Go up to the Castle Grounds, and go talk to the guard. He'll let you in. When you're ready, enter the eastern tent, where you meet Dan. Talk to him to get the Tournament started. Also, Wiseman will confront you for the first time. You now are in control of Bart. While Bart is going through the waterways, Fei'll get into random attacks, part of the tournament. I'll list them here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story Battle Gonzalez(R): 500/0, Survival Tent ?? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story Battle Big Joe(R): 1/1, Metal Vest The crowd loves this guy, but he isn't too tough. Just watch out cause the audience might throw garbage at you, hitting you harder than he does. The crown may even heal Joe. He's not too tough though, just keep hitting him till he goes down. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story Battle Scud(R): 500/0, - His pills can get really annoying, making you really weak, and him really fast. He'll also start curing himself with his pills later. To counter his attack lowering pill, use Iron Valor. Just keep hitting him and he'll eventually fall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story Battle Dan(R): 500/5, - Keep defending and healing yourself, don't hurt the little annoying guy. His beginning attacks are weak, but he'll get really strong later. If you can't handle the attacks, or are just pissed at Dan, hit him with all you got, you'll miss out on the Wedding Dress though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle Wiseman(R): 0/0, - Hit him with Guided shot if you want to hurt him for 1 damage. Physical attacks do nothing, he'll eventually run away without scratching you though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Every-time Fei wins a fight, you'll get the menu screen, which will let you heal up and such. Also, if Fei loses, the game isn't over, just that he's out of the competition, and won't get the background story with Dan and Wiseman, which will mean he'll miss out on the Wedding Dress also. It's probably easiest for you to enter the grate that's south of the hotel, at least for this FAQ it would be easier. Examine the grate to open it, then go in. If you hold run, you can swim faster, do so and start swimming north. Don't worry if the current gets too strong, just wait till it calms down. At the first intersection, keep going northeast. There'll be some kind of pole that you can climb. Do so and pick up the Gold Nugget. Go back down and continue going northeast through the waterway. At the next intersection, make a sharp turn to go southeast. At the end of the tunnel will be a pouch with a Rosesol S. Go back to the intersection, and continue going northeast. At the third intersection, you can turn northeast to go quite a bit for a survival tent, or just skip it and go on to the next paragraph. Make that turn to the northeast, then swim to the next intersection. At this one, turn north, and keep going in that path. Turn southeast at the following intersection, and follow the path to get a survival tent. Make the long trek back to where you originally came from, and this time, go northwest. At the next intersection, make a turn southwest to get an Aquasol S. Go back and continue going north. Take a north at the final intersection and you'll be at the flood gate. Swim in, talk to the old man, save, and climb the ladder up. If Fei already finished the tournament, then there are a lot more here than if he hasn't. Come out of the platform, and turn west. Head northwest, and up into the corridor via the steps. Run into one of the doors on the wall, you should either be in the kitchen or dining room. Go to the kitchen, which is south from the Dining room. In the kitchen, there are some meats hanging from the ceiling, jump to get them. You'll get 2 hob-jerkies, and a hob-meat. Leave the kitchen via the eastern exit. Go south, then turn east with the path, don't go in the big door south yet, instead keep going east, and turn north with the path. Enter the first door going east. In the back of the room is a chest with a Cobra Cracka. Leave, and enter the 3rd door. Examine the suits of armor to your west and east, all 4 of them for 4 Iron Mails. You can talk to the guard to fight him if you want. Leave the room and enter the big door going south. Go up the stairs and take the big door going north. You'll be on the castle balcony. There are 6 rooms, 3 on the west, 3 on the east. You can visit each one, but the 2nd room on the west has the Rosesol s, and the 3rd door on the east has the Aquasol S. Your main goal is to get to the north building by entering the doors leading into it from the east and west. You can explore this area. The first floor has the throne room. Margie is on the 3rd floor, east tower. Go to the 3rd floor, kill the guards, and enter the door going east. Follow the corridor north, kill the guards, and enter the room. Margie's in there waiting. Chapter XIV-Margie's Rescue No items No enemies It's probably wise to save before leaving Margie's room. On your way out, Ramsus and Miang will stop you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle Ramsus(R): 0/0, - Be sure not to attack him when he's in his defensive posture, or he'll really wreak havoc on Bart. Miang will heal Ramsus, and cure his status ailments, while Margie will do something similar, though not as effective. You may want to cast Wild Smile, or even a cologne if you have any. Just give him some deathblows, and it'll be over soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle Ramsus(R): 0/0, - Use the same strategy, except use Fei to attack, and cast Iron Valor on himself if he has it. Fei can also heal with Inner Healing. Margie will have the last word in this fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- You'll escape down the elevator, just follow the short path. You'll eventually escape Aveh with Elly's help. Chapter XV-Road to Nisan Stuff to get: Ether Veiler No enemies Go to Margie's room on the Yggdrasil, and speak with her. You'll meet Chu-chu. Talk to Chu-chu again, and if you picked up the spider back at the mountain path, she'll eat it and give you a ether veiler. Go back up to the bridge and talk to Sigurd. Talk to him again, and take control of the Yggdrasil. Go northwest, and look for a lone tree. It's also a dot on your map, so go to it. Examine it in the Yggdrasil to go to Nisan. Dialog, and scenes. Chapter XVI-City of Peace No items Enemies: (World Map-Grassland)-if you decide to leave Nisan They won't let you back into Yggdrasil, so go into Nisan via the south entrance. The first house to your west is the Inn, but they can't accommodate for you, but the clerk will give you something to make you lose weight. Explore the town a bit The house on the northwest is the town hall, if you examine the door, you can hear a little of what they are talking about. When you're ready, leave the city via the northeastern exit. You'll have to talk to the people to get through. Go on north to the cathedral, and meet the sisters. When you regain control, follow Margie all the way up to the painting of Sophia, hearing some dialog as you go along. After the scene at the panting, head back down the stairs. There's another door to the south of the stairway going up to the 'Room of Sophia'. Go in that door, talk to the sisters if you'd like, they'll talk about some background things. Talk to Agnes on the south side. She won't be too much of a help to your curiosity. When you're done in the cathedral, head back to town. Maison will be there waiting. Go into the house that he is standing in front of. Some rather long dialog will happen, you have to ask him everything on the list. Go talk to Bart who's on the bridge. When the dialog is over, head to the northwest building, the town hall. A plan will be devised. In the morning, make any preparations, you won't come back to Nisan for a while, save, then tell Bart that you're ready. Chapter XVII-Recapture Aveh Stuff to get: Extra Ar+2 Magnetic Coat Rosesol S Gold Nugget Enemies: (Kislev Border) May Fly(G): 1410/690, Extra Ar+1 Edelweiss(G): 880/0, Fang Medusoid(G): 698/0, - Nomad Repair Bot(G): 689/0, - When you regain control, it'll be as Citan. You can talk to Maison to cheer him up. Save if you want. You can explore the Yggdrasil and talk to the crew, but you'll eventually have to get on deck. Some sequences follow, and you'll wind up as Fei. Before jumping up anything, head east on the grass. At the end of the path, you should be able to see some kind of chest. Jump to it, it's an Extra Ar+2. Jump your way north, then east. On one of the ledges, if you head south, there'll be a chest with a Magnetic Coat inside. Just head north after that, and enter the cavern mouth. There's really only 1 path here, follow it. Take side paths to get the chests Rosesol S and Gold Nugget. If you miss a jump, you'll have to climb back up and try again. On the top, there is a repair bot, and a save point. If you tell the bot that you don't trust him, you'll fight him, he'll be a Nomad Repair Bot. If that happens, the savepoint and your refueling station will be gone, so don't do it. Save, then head out through the cavern exit. You'll meet some Geblar forces, and fight them. One of them is Elly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle Wand Knight(G): 1500/200, Extra Ar+2 Wand Knight(G): 1500/200, Extra Ar+2 Same as from Bart's Lair, cept you only have Weltall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle Claw Knight(G): 1500/300, Extra Ar+2 Sword Knight(G): 1500/300, Extra Ar+2 Aegis Knight(G): 1500/300, Extra Ar+2 ?? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle Vierge(G): This is a real fight, so don't lose. ?? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- When that's over, save, refuel, and head northeast. Walk into the light at the top. Just climb up the ladder as Bart, I think this is one of the more funnier scenes in the game, with Maison. Chapter XVIII-Desert Despair No items Enemies: (Border Fleet) Sand Tripper(G): 550/110, - Gigafoot(G): 320/220, C Circuit Trooper(G): 250/100, Extra Ar Just leave the gun room as Bart. You might want to save also. When you gain control, your mission is to go west. The little blue shots will deal 1 damage to you. If you touch any of the gears, you'll be sucked into a fight, try to avoid those as you'll have to conserve HP and fuel for the boss. The mines will deal 15 damage to you, so avoid those also. The next screen has the same objective, go west. In the next screen, you'll fight the Keifenzel(sp?). ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Fight Main Gun(G): 7000/0, Gold Bullion Small Gun(R): 0/0, - It's probably best to booster your first round. Stomp the small guns, it should only take 1 attack, then concentrate on the main gun. It counts down, so try to kill it before it reaches 0. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Fight Dora(G): 13000/2000 Don't get too overjoyed. You'll get 2 of Bart's cronies for this fight. They won't help too much in the beginning, as their X attack still does 0. ?? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Many more sequences, Bart will have to fight the Red-haired guy. You'll lose, so don't waste items. Fei'll eventually wake up in Kislev. Chapter XIX-Kislev Capital No items No enemies Wow, 5 straight fights already. I suggest you save just in case you screw up. After you beat him there will be a story sequence and you'll eventually regain control in the champs room. Go through the southeast door for a bed and memory cube. When you're done head downstairs to the bar then make your way to the D Block Northeast exit. Once on the city map go to the crystal in the center (the pink building) and go inside. Talk to the guards, they'll lead you to an elevator, you'll also notice that Rico is following you. When you regain control, go east and through the door then all the way down the stairs and through the door at the bottom. Turn west and go until you get to a big door; go in. Go talk to the guy in the northwest corner, jump on his head and get the chest on the shelf containing an Insulated AR. Drop back down and examine the panel next to him to switch it on. The idea is to get the crane to the southwest corner by dodging all the obstacles in the way. If you screw up (trust me you will), just leave the room and come back in and the crane will be back in its original position. When you get it jump on the hook on the crane and use it to jump over the boxes and into the hidden room, and treasure chest containing a Power Magic. Then go back out of the room and up the stairs to where you were before (where you regained control). Go through the door thats guarded by two (what do you know!!) guards!! Anyway you'll be in an elevator. When you arrive, turn west go up the stairs and through the door at the top. Go through the other doorway in this room, and talk to the Kaiser. A story sequence will occur (this one took me awhile to understand but the gist of it is that Rico is the Kaiser's son). Afterwards Rico will be in your party. Leave the room and Rico will be arrested for trying to assasinate the Kaiser. Once you regain control go back to the organ room and nab the Knight Mail from the chest there. Then leave the building and you'll automatically go to A Block. Hammer will confront you with the info on where Weltall is. You'll regain control on top of a building. Go ahead and explore the Block, there's not much here, but you can find the old D Block doctor if you jump down the nearby chimney. Just make sure, whatever you do, *DON'T GIVE BIG JOE 5000 G!!*. God dangit, I WISH YOU COULD KILL HIM!! I got gipped for 5000g. When you're done leave, and head for D Block. When you walk by the messhall entrance some battlers will come out and a story sequence will ensue. After you regain control go through the other door and go to sleep... Chapter XXIV - Gear Dock Raid Thing to get: Frame HP 30 Master Key Survival Tent Enemies: Hob-Gob: hob-jerky, hob-meat Batrat: fang Swordsman: Aquasol Mechanic: - When you wake up it'll be night. Leave your room and exit the bar. In D Block, head for the ladder by the west exit of the messhall. Go up the ladder, turn south and go up the other ladder by the boxes. Talk to the Amazoness, when she's done, shift the view so that you can see the tracks, and get ready to jump onto the next moving train. When you get on there will be a brief sequence , then quickly make your way to the engine of the train. If you don't get there in time, don't worry, you just have to start over again. Eventually you'll jump up the ventalation shaft automatically. You'll land in a room with two doors, and an air duct. Try to open the south door and a sequence will occur. Neither of the doors are accessable now so jump up the crates to the air duct. Once in the duct, follow it and ignore the first intersection, and continue on south. Follow that path until you can turn south again. Turn south and follow that path to a door. Inside you'll be in a room much like the original. Go down to the lone crate on the floor and jump from there to the west wall crates and go through the door. Head west and keep going till you get to a wall turn south, and follow the path to a door. Go in the door, there will be a story sequence with 2 guards. After they leave go get the key they left behind from the cabinet, where you'll also find a Frame HP 30 (YEAH you can finally heal gears, well at a cost). Leave through the east door, keep going through the corridor to the door at the other end. Then through the door just to your north. Through this corridor too and to the door at the other end. Then go through the door on the north side of the next room. You should be in the first room now. Save your game if you wish. Then examine the panel next to the eastern door. Then go through the door (duh!). Follow the corridor down the stairs and get the Survival Tent out of the chest. Then go through the door at the west end of the corridor. You'll be in a gear docking area. Work your way to the lower area and examine one of the blinking control pads in the center area. Keep doing it until Weltall shows up (should be twice). Then get into Weltall. On the south wall there's a gear that's a different color than the others. Talk to him and upgrade Weltall with the best material available. When you're done (save if you wish) get on one of the elevators (doesn't matter which) in the center area. There will be a story sequence with Rico, then... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle: Ranker R: Scales This is really not hard at all just hit him with your best Deathblow twice (he only has about 1500 HP). All he can do is lower your ACC and EV if you bought the best armour at the last shop. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter XXV - Night Purge Things to get: - After the battle with the Ranker there will be another story sequence (The air raid is one of my favorite cut scenes in the game) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle: Aegis Knight R: Same strategy as before. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story scene... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle: Sword Knight R: Same strategy as before. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story scene... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle: Claw Knight R: Beam Coat Same strategy as before. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story scene... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle: Wand Knight R (x2): Same strategy as before. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Loooong story sequence and you're given a chance to save and restore your gears health. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle: Domina/Hecht: HP Drive With Fei do x attacks then the s,t combo when you have 2 attack levels, also use a boosterif you bought the latest engine at the robot. With Rico do x attacks then the t,s combo. The problem is that she's really fast, so try and finish her as quickly as possible. Eventually she'll call in a big gun, I suggest attacking her and ignoring the gun. If you do ignore it they'll eventually do an awesome team attack against you, but you should be able to survive 2 of them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another long story sequence (another of the coolest in the game) Elly joins your team again! You'll eventually end up in the A Block doctor's house. Chapter XXV - Secret Weapon Things to get: M-Disc (make sure you get this, else you have to win it at the very end) 02 Cylinder Extra Ar+3 Ground Enemies: (Overworld) Rainfrog: Aquasol, Aquasol S Forest Elf: Zetasol Dwarf: Aquasol Pecking Duck: - Hob-gob: hob-jerky, hob-meat Rhino: Eyeball Enemies: (Factory) MarquebusMk10(G): - NeoMushaMk100(G): - HatamotMk3(G): Mica ShinobiMkD(G): - Mechanic: - Fis-6 Mechanic: - Once you're done, try to leave the house and there will be a brief story sequence. After its done, leave the house and head east to where Big Joe (BASTARD!!!) was before and head down the alley search around at the very far back and you'll find an M-Disc! When you try to exit through the south exit the guards will get their butts kicked by Rico who will then join your team. Once thats done you're on the city map; go to the south red crystal to the overworld. Once there head north around the river and around the mountains. On the south face of the mountains and you'll find the Goliath Factory. Once inside make sure you get in your gears. There are no random battles in this first area so take your time if you want (yeah right). At the first intersection turn north and eventually you'll get to a gear with Hammer inside. You can change your team members, heal, or buy stuff here, so fill up. When you're done head through the door to your north. Now every few steps you take there will be a prearranged battle. There's only one way you can go so just head to the other end. In the next room just follow the corridor until there's a turn south (leads to a save point if you need it otherwise ignore it). Continue west. Eventually you'll get to a 3 way intersection, turn east for an 02 Cylinder from the chest there, then turn back west. Keep following that corridor and you'll get to a large door, go through it. Again there's only one way to go so head through the rapids. At the end hop on one of the elevators. Head through the west door and go under the treadmill on foot to get Extra Ar+3 out of the chest. On the east wall there's a control panel; examine it to switch the treadmill direction. Then head back east to the room before. Go through the east door there too. In the next room the control panel you need to switch is on the west side of the treadmill. Examine it and then head south. Follow the path in the next room. Hit the switch on the south wall then head east. Follow the corridor in the next room, and in the next you'll automatically be transported. When you regain control head to the lower left of your screen (you can't change your view). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle: Fis-6: Ground This guy's kinda tough. He'll keep doing "Shift Up" until he overheats. Keep hitting him with the t,s combos when the mechanics comeout use two guys to kill them while the other attacks Fis-6. Eventually you'll kill him, and all the mechanics will disapear. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- When he's dead go through where Fis-6 came out. A story sequence on the bridge of the goliath occurs. You'll regain control and you can save, when you're done talk to everyone and Citan will say he thinks he can do it. Talk to him again and say yes. A story sequence will ensue. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle: Grahf: - Even out of his gear he's awsome, just keep hitting him with the x attack and you'll eventually beat him. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story sequence (Grahf gets what he deserves). You can now save it again if you want. Talk to Citan when you're done. A loooong story sequence will occur. Chapter XXVI - Men...of the...sea Things to get: Lunar Rod D Circuit SerpantGWhip Mentsol Mica Super Goggles Premier Shoes Deathblower 1 You'll regain control on the remnants of the Goliath with just Fei and Elly. Search the weird looking square that rumbles to find Fei. There will be a story sequence. You'll regain control on the Yggdrasil!?! Head for the bridge and talk to Bart. A story sequence will ensue (hehe poor Fei, well mabey poor fish hehehe). You'll regain control with Bart in the Yggdrasil II. Head for the shop in the gear hanger, once there talk to Citan. After you're done jabbering, go to the paddack with Stier and there will be a looong story sequence. After you regain control go west just a little for a memory cube. In the northwest corner of the area there's an item shop with some new items. Northeast of the memory cube there's an accessory/weapon shop. After you're done, go ahead and leave the area. Go south to the supply entrance. In this area there are 4 treasure chests, all in plain view. 1) From the entrance head north and you'll see a gun lying across the chasm. Jump on it and head across, once at the end jump on the board below you to the east. You'll see a big knife, use it as a bridge too, and go across. Head north along the boxes, then jump on the container ropes to get the Lunar Rod out of the chest. 2) Head back to the entrance. This time go down the stairs (instead of across the gun), just to the east there is a door heading south. In that room go to the southwest corner and drop down to the crates below. Head north to get the D Circuit out of the chest. 3) Head all the way to the northwest corner of the area, jump on the box (just to you east) and then jump over the fence to get the SerpanGWhip out of the chest. 4) Go back to the northwest corner, but don't go up the ramp. Just southwest of the northwest corner you'll see a rope hanger with a chest on it traveling by, when it is right above you jump and you'll knock the chest off. Inside is a Mica. Now that you're done, leave the supply entrance area. On the east side of the deck in the middle there should be a crystal called "screw elevator" Go in and examine the door. Choose 3F Beer Hall. Go north of the door you come in until you get to a ladder. Climb up and talk to the kid on top of the beer keg (man I wish I had that much beer hehe) to recieve a mentsol. ***Optional*** Next if you want to have a little fun, go to the southeast corner of the room and talk to the woman (get you mind out of the gutter she just wants to play cards). She'll teach you how to play cards, and then she'll play you. If you beat her you get the Premier Shoes. There's now a kid in the Northwest corner of the supply entrance who will play you. If you beat him he'll give you the Super Goggles. After you beat both of them, Queenie (on the crates in the armour grounds), will be playable. If you beat her (and damn she's tough), she'll give you the very nice Deathblower 1 item, and she'll let you keep playing her for fun (unlike the other two). When you're done, go back to the Screw Elevator. This time go to the Bridge. Right as you come in talk to the Captain (hes just east of you). There will be a story sequence, when its done follow the captain through the door and you'll be in the beer hall again. The Captain will be at one of the tables on the east wall. There will be a long sotry sequence. When you regain control, head back to the bridge. There will be another story sequence. When you regain control head back to the bridge. There will be another story sequence. Head for the deck when its done. Save in the beer hall or armour grounds if you want. When you're done get in your gears. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle: Haishao: - She does basically all electric attacks so before the battle you might want to equip Insulate Ar, or something like it. Also use Wild Smile right off the bat. Then just use your best Deathblows. Eventually Sigurd will radio you and depth charge them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- After they run out of fuel they'll take Elly with them! There'll be a story sequence. When its done leave the docking area and you'll automatically go to the bridge of the Thames. There, there will be another long story sequence. When you regain control go to the beer hall. There will be another story sequence. Chapter XXVII - Betrayal Things to get: - When you regain control, make your way to the engine room in the Yggdrasil II. There, there will be a story sequence. When you regain control talk to Citan twice. Then head for the medical room, and talk to Elly. Chapter XXVIII - Ramsus' Attack Things to get: - There will be a story sequence then you'll be greeted with a menu. The next battle is hard if you aren't equipped correctly. Make sure that your gears have at least 2 Mica' or Insulated Ar's on each of them, otherwise Ramsus will do 1000+ per turn. After your done there will be a story sequence. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle: Bladegash: Str. Drive Shes just the precurser to the hard battle so try and beat her quickly. Luckily she has low HP so use x and t,x attacks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you beat her you'll jump down below. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle: Haishao (Ramsus): He's the one who attacks and he's actually kinda hard. Hit him with Wild Smile as much as possible so the Miang won't restore him, instead she'll take away the status ailment. Use normal tactics except if he mirrors you stance, then charge until he unleashes his attack then attack again. Miang's Gear: She's not really part of this battle, as you can't attack her, but she does heal Ramsus. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eventually Ramsus will say he can't let you escape and he'll kick Fei's preverbial butt. Elly goes postal (yet another reason not to mess with a woman!) and kick Ramsus' butt. You'll then be transported to the Thames sick bay where there will be a bleak story sequence. When its done go to the deck in the screw elevator and then go to the Armour Ground where there will be a story sequence. Chapter XXIX - A Young Priest Things to get: - Enemies:(on the sea) Griffon(G): Fang Rapid Fire(G): Resp. Circuit Airwalk(G): - Breaker(G): Extra Ar+4 Death Scythe(G): Fang (on the Aquavy Islands) Griffon(G): Fang Planter: Bizfruit Etone(G): - Ripper: - Wels: - Mammoth(G): Ether Stone When you regain control, head for the Yggdrasil bridge (talk to Margie if you want to change party members) and launch the Yggdrasil. From the Thames head north past the first dot on the map to the second one. Go west around the island that its on, until you find desert area where you can get out. From there head southeast to the Ethos HQ. Once inside head up past the pews and Billy will confront you. There will be a sequence. Follow him when he tells you to. Eventually you'll get to the infirmary. There will be the predictable story scene. When you regain control leave the infirmary and go back up the stairs. Go ahead and explore all the rooms, eventually Elly will tell you that Fei's gonna be alright. Then go back to the infirmary. There will be a brief story sequence, adn you'll go back to the bridgte and launch the ship. From the Ethos HQ head southeast past the Tower of Babel, and you'll find Billy's orphanage. Chapter XXX - The Orphanage Things to get: Book 1 Book 2 Book 3 TAG Badge As you get in jump on the lever on the hand looking thing just west of the entrance. Then go in the door on the north face of the building, go up the ladder just to your west and talk to the kid who'll give you the first book, if you say you'll won't tell. Go through the door on the north wall (don't talk to Billy yet) in that room. In the next room examine the northernmost door on the east wall and a kid will come out and give you the second book (ewwww!). If you have Rico in you party, go in the southernmost door on the east wall. Talk to the kid on the bed and after a lengthy speech will give you the third book. Leave the house and on the westside of the campus there's a fenced in area. Talk to the birdboy in there. Then get all the chickens in the fence (they follow you for a little bit if you talk to them). Once you have them all talk to the birdboy again and he'll give you the TAG Badge. Go back in the first room in the house and talk to Billy. There will be a story sequence. When its done go to the northernmost room and search the bookshelf. Billy will come out and there will be a story sequence. Leave the orphanage and you'll automatically be in the Yggdrasil. Chapter XXXI - Reaper's Ship Things to get: Penguin Coat B&JM10S Ammo Cabin Key Silver Beret ShotG60 Ammo Enemies: Abandon: B&JM10S Ammo, B&JM10A Ammo Wels: - Shellbelle: - Go to the room that is Maison's shop and a bar. There will be a story sequence. When you regain control talk to Citan then Sigurd and there will be a story sequence. When you regain control, go back to Maison's bar. Right as you come in head west around the table, and talk to Billy. There will be a fairly long story sequence. You'll eventually get to the screen where you can change characters. I suggest stopping at Maison's shop and stocking up. Make sure that you have at least 10 Zetasol's. When you're ready, go to the hatch and say yes. Head up the rope ladder and in to the ship. There will be a short story sequence. Afterwards head north and a little east. Jump when you reach some boxes to knock them down. Then head north past the crates and hit the red switch to turn on the lights. Next go northwest of there and knock down some crates. Jump over the bags to your west and get the chest with a Penguin Coat inside. Then go up the ladder. On the top of the ship go north and drop down the only hatch, other than the one you came up. Just west of the ladder is a chest with the B&JM10S Ammo in it. From there head south past the hanging meat and you'll find a chest with a survival tent in it. Just northeast, on the wall, there's a switch that you can hit to unlock the Doorlock B. Go out through the door to your southwest for a memory cube. When you're done go back to the ladder where you came in. There will be a door north of there that you can go in. Once through the door go in the first door to your east and grab the cabin key. Then go in the second door on your west and find the Siver Beret. And finally the last door on the west contains ShotG60 Ammo. When you're done examine the north door and say yes. You'll find its rusted shut. I think this is a cool addition; what you need to do is hold down the o button and ram the door. You have to do it 5 times, and then you knock the door oof. Go through that room and into the next. Climb up the ladder and go north. There's a memory cube (the boss battles are next so save it). Just southwest of the memory cude is a chimney that keeps opening and closing, jump down when its open. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle: Bloody: - This guy's basically Redrum's big brother. Make sure you revive whoever he murders. I also suggest chargin up a massive combo with Billy (you can do about 2500+). Also Wild Smile is useful if you have Bart in your team. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- After you beat him there will be a very brief story sequence. When its done try to leave through the door to your south and a really cool story sequence happens. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Battle: Giant Wels: G-M686 Gun Keep hitting him with any kind of ether (I suggest 5 times). Then just attack him with your good deathblows. Also boosters are good for this fight. If you have Bart in your team, again, use Wild Smile. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- There will be a sequence on board the Yggdrasil. Chapter XXXII - Burning Souls Thing to get: B&J M686 Gun Gold Nugget Aquasol DX Seal Ar. Enemies: Assassin(priest type): Aquasol Assassin(ninja type): Aquasol Wels: - Afterwards stock up, heal, etc. Then go back to the bridge and launch the Yggdrasil. Head back to the orphanage. Go to the room with the bookshelf that you couldn't get past before, examine it with Billy then push the bookshelf out of the way. In the room there's a B&J M686 Gun. After you're done, go back to the Ethos HQ. Once inside there will be a story sequence. When you regain control go north past the pews and through the door then turn west and go through that door. There will be a story sequence and a battle. After the battle go through the open door on the south wall go down the stair and through the door at the bottom. There will be a story scene and a battle after the battle head through the door to your west and then immediatly the first door on your north. Go up the stair and through the door at the top. Grab the gold nugget, and go through the other door and grab the chests with Aquasol DX, and the Seal Ar. Go back down the stair and through the door at the bottom and then through the east door. Go through the east door. Go through the corridor east (ignore the infirmary) and through the easternmost door. At the first intersection turn north. Follow that hallway and go through the 2nd and 3rd doors. In the 2nd door talk to the woman twice. In the third rescue that money grubbing SOB Big Joe (I'll never forgive him!!). When you're done go back to where you turned north and continue east through the door. Go through the next door and examine the control panel on the elevator to go down. Go through the door at the botton. Follow the corridor and you'll find a door on the east wall. Go through it and there will be an important (and long) story sequence. After its done, leave that room. There will be another story scen. Afterwards there will be a battle. After the battle, follow Jessie through the north door. There will be another long story sequence. Eventually you're given the chance to change party members and save, restock, etc. ************************************************************************** M I S C E L L A N E O U S ************************************************************************** ------------------------------- G A M E S H A R K C O D E S I got all these codes from Game Shark Creators Club. A: Level 80 is also required. Q: How do I play as Argento in the battling on Disc 2? A: Go to special mode 1 and beat all the gears on hard difficulty and 3 rounds. Then beat the gear you were playing as with Xenogears. All this without losing a round and he'll appear to the left of Weltall. Q: How do I get more Deathblows? A: Don't use Deathblows in battle, do normal attacks. Q: How do I get more Gear Attacks? A: Get more Deathblows.
