Vectrex Hardware

GCE in the U.S.A. produced a self-contained videogames system that used vector graphics to give an extremely fast and responsive gaming experience. The screen was black and white with colour being added by the use of transparent overlays that were individually designed for each game. There were two add-ons produced for the system, a Light Pen which enabled interaction with the screen and was most effective with the Art Master cartridge, and a 3D Imager which used a rotating coloured disk in the headset to add colour and 3 dimensions to specially produced cartridges. In Europe the system was distributed by Milton Bradley. The picture above shows my Vectrex playing the built-in Minestorm game.
