Intended Flavor: green tea mousse on a plain stick Review Date: October 14, 2005 Matcha is the expensive powdered green tea used in Japanese tea ceremonies. It also makes a very tasty brew. So how does it translate to candy? Well, I drink green tea daily, and... this tastes like green tea. It is only very slightly sweet. The dominant sensation is the astringency common to some varieties of green tea, along with a slight biting undertone. It's a tasty snack, really, but I wouldn't call it "candy" at all. Possibly because "astringent" just isn't the best flavor for candy. As a snack, though, it's really rather tasty. Eat it, but don't call it candy.
