One of the most famous strategies for Terrans in both land and island maps is the tank drop. The tank drop works if the enemy has a high ground area very near from his resource spot or main base. It involves dropping a sige tanks to ram the units from below ground.

• Produce mass marines and a couple of bunkers in your base in case of an early attack.
• Head for gas early after a defensive array of 10+ marines and 2+ bunkers. Build a factory, starport and construct the attachments to the two buildings.
• Research siege technology and start making your first siege tank and dropship.
• Scout the enemy base, construct a turret if the enemy has cloaked or a lot of fliers.
• Load the siege tank in the dropship with an scv and 3 marines.
• Drop the squad in highground. Start the bunker and load in the marines. Siege the tank and there!
• Go for academy and make a comsat station to spot for the siege tanks.
• Return with the dropship and make another dropship.
• Load the dropships again with siege tanks, marines and scvs and keep them dropping into your opponents' base.
