August 30, 2000: Oh yay, we've updated. A number of vacations blindsided us (huh?), and now we're back in school and with a huge backlog of updates. You may have noticed our slight main page redesign. Godstuff and Fluff have new stuff in them, we've a lot of new weapons and equipment, and our current chapter of the Adventure Journal is finally up: Black Nebula Rising. There's stuff we're meaning to do, and a hella stuff that we got halfway through, dropped, forgot. Oh hell, I don't know; just give us some time here to stop being irritable bastards and actually do something useful. Wow, I'm really happy, aren't I?
P.S. Only one picture up in the gallery, because we're lazy and our connection is slow. Also, look for some hints at the third addition to the Hendyker cycle shortly, as well as the new Rameseum M4...
August 9, 2000: The reports of the gallery's life have been greatly exaggerated. It's back, though. Or is that, finally here?
As you may have noticed, the main page has been modified to look cleaner, as well as to split Out of Character, right on schedule. Go look at OOC and its hellspawn, Fluff 'n Stuff. To add to the madness, OOC has an article on the history of everyone's favorite criminal organization, Black Sun. Yummy goodstuff.
August 1, 2000: After a downtime that included a vacation and a needed break from the page, we're back with what can be politely termed a "fuck-ton" of new content. We've got loads of new guns, new equipment, and new ship modifications for your viewing pleasure... heh, and you say we don't have enough content yet! ^_-
With this stat influx, we've finally fixed the formatting for all statistics pages, fixing several problems with the ships and characters while we're at it (Tu'ebb has a new description, par example...). We've finally given up on trying to do anything fancy with the gallery, so here it is in non-flashy, skeletal form. No new adventure journal yet; we're lazy that way. Deal with it.
Next up: Godstuff shall sooneth be rendered unto two. We're going to separate the wheat (the useful, GM-friendly stuff) from the chaff (the fluffy-but-cool campaign background stuff) for your navigating pleasure. Please don't stop going to the background sections because of this; we think our background has always been our strong suit. Just for those people who like it cut-and-dried....
As one final note, we've received a complaint or two about how now matter where the links go, the DNS remains the same. This means that if you were to reload, it would drop you back to the splash page. For those of you with this problem, our site can be fully accessed at www.geocities.com/hootkiller. Sorry about that.
July 14, 2000: Great. Now the pictures aren't even working. ::sighs:: If Warren wasn't in Britain right now, I'd have him move the whole site to somewhere a little, well, less crappy.
Updates will resume as soon as we've got all this beaten down...
July 13, 2000: Houston, we have a problem.
Geocities is giving us problems. Not only has the new guns page been royally farked, but we can't even edit properly because it randomly decides to cut HTML in the File Manager. Rest assured that everything will be fixed Soon... and in the meantime, we disavow any knowledge of why part of a link to a "celebrity movie archive" appears among garbage text at the bottom of the page....
With the new guns page comes more yummy stats, this time for our ship modifications. Guns 'n stuff so new, the VT2 hasn't even registered them on its page yet... check back soon.
July 11, 2000: Bugger! We're a year old and we didn't even know it!
I guess this is our birthday present... we've been reviewed again, this time by Toris, a new SWRPG reviewing site. Not too shabby... expect an editorial on that in a few. ^_^ Finally, the guns page is receiving an incredibly-needed navigation kick in the pants, to correspond with the reopening of ZLS as the Zolarian Systems Corporation, Brentaal. NPCs soon to follow... I promise....
July 10, 2000: A technical update day today. Besides some continuity edits in the timeline (Torill and Tu'ebb have a less cookiecutter background now, and some history might soon appear on the fabled Eucliptan Morae), not a lot of new content. However, we've cracked down on several henious font crimes (those should all be repaired now), added and fixed links to the vehicles and Rameseum II deckplans (now to be found on the ships page), and fixed several minor spelling and grammar errors pagewide.
I'd like to take this time to note that we're no web designers. We're learning all this as we go along; our original page was a study in horrendousness and we've been slowly improving that over the past year and a half. Bear with us in all this; we finally think we're getting ready to hit the big time now, and content will be a-pouring. Sean's got an official Big Easy banner almost ready; it looks very cool. All new stuff coming soon; we've got a short story, updates to the NPC section... ::wanders off mumbling to himself::
July 8, 2000: Happy post-Bungie day. First up, here's some great news: Torill Hendyker has officially won Yoda Boy's Golden Yoda award, and has won a free portrait! Yoda Boy (aka Darren Calvert), in case you don't know, is the hands-down best Star Wars RPG artist out there. His works are coveted throughout the online community for characters, and now Torill has his own! Thanks a ton, Darren! Here's Torill's amazing portrait:
June 21, 2000: Ok...we FINALLY caught on to the font problem. At no small effort to myself, we have reduced fonts around the store, er, page. Look for small updates here and there, and keep an eye out for us on some other SWRPG pages...we're goin out and makin ourselves known to link pages around the web! Other new stuff includes a soon-to-be-uploaded new Torill picture, as well as some composite pictures of Torill and Zolar. Plus, a big change is going to be happening in the campaign soon, as the focus shifts again....
June 06, 2000: The Big Easy has a new level of interactivity with the addition of the infamous (?) Zolar Quiz! See how well you know everyone's favorite megalomaniac. Also on the "Big Easy-Big News" burner: brand spankin' new coolage WALLPAPERS! Go and choose your weapon: Navy Torill or Blood-red Zolar (right or control-click to download). As if that weren't enough, we've also got a full-ass gallery running, so you can go admire our characters in their full splendor. Also, the Adventure Journal chugs onward, as do the Ruminations. Once more, minor site updates (such as the name of this page). To wrap things up, we're considering flinging out a newsletter to inform all you slackers out there of just what has changed around here... because everyone knows we're great, right? Guys? Where are you going? I'm not done yet-
May 25, 2000: I'll stop with amazement over our recent updating spree now, and just give you the News. A new section has unveiled itself: Random Ruminations, in the Out of Character section (formerly known as God Stuff). It's the place to go for the kind of flashing revelations about our campaign not big enough or worthy enough for a full essay. Should be an interesting read. Also, the Adventure Journal Update du Jour has arrived, so go there for more crazy foo adventuring.
May 18, 2000: Three updates within a month's space. The world must be ending. More Adventure Journal, rewrites for Torill and Zolar's character descriptions and even long-awaited pics for Zolar! Soon to come: redone NPC sections (yeah, yeah, I'm finally getting to it), a full picture gallery, and more unique and cool stuff so we're not just a small fact repository (i.e. Easy timelines, adventure ideas, ruminations, index and/or cleaner site design). We've recently become very jealous of such professionally-done pages as the Moon Swing Chronicles, The Chaos Crew and Guilded Shadows. Hey... we have our DNS, for chrissake! We can be just as good as them! I think I can, I think I can....
May 5. 2000: Hot on the heels of our last update, here comes another one. We've tweaked the main page and various pages througout for easier reading and surfing, and have added a whole buttload of new stuff to the God Stuff section, as well as added continuing adventures in the Adventure Journal. You'll notice renamings, font changes, picture fixes, etc. (our Mod Squad pics are finally fixed...) More of a fixer-upper update than anything, but definetly needed.
On a personal note, you're probably wondering why the NPC, equipment and aliens sections haven't been updated in, oh, forever. There's a reason for this, mainly the fact that I don't like doing it. For one, I (Sean) was never really fond of many of the relics of "The Rameseum" chapter. Oh sure, they were a blast to play, but a pain to work into a coherent and logical campaign. Second, I truly despise this HTML editor, and it's a real bitch trying to work all that data into a useful format. Ok, so I'm being whiny and not being very mature about this. I don't care. I want to be a Toys 'R Us kid, dammit. (until next update.......)
April 26, 2000: Update!! Mondo update! Huge big honkin' update! If you're wondering why I'm so happy, it's because of this: we're updating! (Duh.) New features include but are not limited to: a brand spankin' new Big Easy logo, two hand-drawn portraits of Torill, new character descriptions, cutting-edge Adventure Journal, some rants, ruminations and notes on various subjects in our God Stuff section, plus various updates and new sections throughout the site... see if you can find them all. Plus, there's something new... something which I can't tell you all about just yet. I'll give you a hint, though... it has something to do with a total site revamp. D'OH!!
Oh, and a new link in the links section. I suggest you check it out... it'll add some "T" to your Easy...
January 9, 2000: What? No Millenium Revamp?! Cheap!! Well, the updates have been slow recently due to many problems. Mainly school. But anyway, we're trying...not many updates this time, mainly the Adventure Journal adds a new chapter to the Big Easy saga, and a few minor tweaks. Huh. Whole lotta good school does me if I write sentences like that... anyway, the character pages were also updated with a few new descriptions of the new post-ROTJ crew, and therefore a few pictures (mainly Zolar's) are out of date. We'll replace em as soon as we can. Oh yeah, almost forgot! Warren's done extensive work and research (not to mention grueling clicking, since he used Microsoft Word's drawing program to do it...!) to draw up deck plans of the Rameseum II and Dauphern! Go check them out in the starship section!
October 10, 1999: Ok....almost a month later, the updates mentioned below are finally uploaded. Anyhoo, still working...getting together a droid modifications page, as well as adding the Bottle Makes Three to the crew's ship collection. Color-coded the massive slang collection, letting you know who's what's words. Soon you'll read about our newest adventure, A Favor Done Me, in which the crew have the fate of the galaxy in their hands. Literally. (DOH! I just realized I gave Warren the updates with this adventure only half written up! And without this news update! Ah well, that's the way the Cookie Monster crumbles...) Check out the Mod Squad section as well for personal pictures of each campaign member...see Michael in all his non-grimacing glory! Picture problems still abound, however...please excuse any broken pics....
September 9. 1999: Yahoo! Finally, an updated adventure journal! You can now read all of our up-to-date adventures in the criminal underworld of Star Wars. And continuing! Anyway, with other page news, Warren took out the code for the comments section on this page, since he got tired of Senator Orrin Hatch yelling at him. You'll have to survive without it, I guess. We're also working on a history of the Rameseum page in the Locations section, and adding a few updates to get it up to date. Lotsa little tweaks all around, too.
August 8, 1999: Err, apparently Warren took some initiative by adding a mail-in-your-comment section on the news page. Use it!!! As far as I know, (we're on vacation, and haven't heard from him in a while), only Senator Orrin Hatch has sent in a review (where he apparently voices his opinion that Land Rovers and Jack Russel Terriers suck. Weird how he has the same views as us ;). Also, we've added a new section that gives brief descriptions of our other failed campaigns. You can find the link on the main page.
June 26?, 1999: Welcome, ladies and gentlebeings, to the Big Easy! We've finally gotten this swanky new page up, and should have some cool stuff goin into it soon. However, right now, we mainly have only the skeleton up. We'll have some more real, honest stats and stuff up Soon. Just give us some time. Until then, check out this nifty picture!!!
(P.S. If something isn't a link, that means it ain't done yet!)
