Personal History: Vigo Sprax, one of the prestigous (or infamous) Vigos of Black Sun, did not fall into his position by accident. Sprax grew up as an apprentice in the vaunted Brentaal Trade Houses. There is no better place to learn the skills of business, and Sprax learned everything there was to know. He could have easily lead a wealthy life as a banker or a merchant with his background. But Sprax was opportunistic. He knew that if crime didn't pay, there wouldn't be many criminals. Using his in-depth knowledge of the Trade Houses, Sprax often made the best out of crooked deals, price skimming, and speculation in the markets. When he felt he needed to move on, he "negotiated" with a venture capital company, and started his own shipping business (his forte), Jaytayus Outbound, far from the noses of the Republic or the Imperials in the Periphery Sector.

Sprax was dealing at a disadvantage when he came to the Periphery; the Sector's proximity to Hutt Space gave the Hutts considerable power in the region. However, Sprax was not one to be put off by a little competition. He faced off with the Hutts over Jaytayus, and eventually won considerable shipping rights in the sector. This amazing victory for the young company gave another galactic shipping company, XTS, the impetus to propose an alliance. Though Sprax knew he was giving up some autonomy, he also knew that it was an offer too good to refuse. After agreeing to work with XTS, Jaytayus became extremely profitable, and soon Sprax was able to start pulling in revenue from "other" sources...Jaytayus ships doing smuggling and cargo-theft duties...a spinoff communications company (Subspace Communications Inc.), which was convientley used for collecting blackmail information...mining companies in the nearby Yen Asteroid belt Sprax was able to muscle in to exclusive contracts.

Sprax's life took another turn when the XTS regional manager suddenly "resigned," and Sprax found himself promoted...not in the business world, but suddenly to the realm of Black Sun. He had long suspected organized crime behind XTS, but Sprax had no idea that he was in Black Sun. Not only that, but Prince Xizor had been impressed enough by Sprax's abilities that he was now one of the Vigos. Sprax immediately began to live up to his title, as he stepped up profitability in order to meet the Underlord's demands.

During his heydey, Sprax was the shadow ruler of the Periphery. Freighters flying Jaytayus flags patrolled the space lanes, not only transporting cargo but gaurding against pirates (especially the Disac pirates, a group that caused Sprax much headaches around the time of the battle of Yavin). His Weequay enforcers gaurded the spaceports, keeping the peace and extorting money from local businessmen. He controlled a group of pirates under the Nikto pirate lord Nim Abek, who stole ships for Sprax to send to the chopshop and resell for lucrative amounts of money to either the underworld, or even the local Rebel or Imperial powers. And best of all, noone not in the organization even suspected he was behind it...

When Xizor died and the Vigos began fighting, Sprax saw his chance to improve his position. Going to war with the other Vigos, he and his expeditors were quite instrumental in determining the result of the Vigo War. Sprax was wounded at the altercation on Tarshon around 6 A.B.Y., and subsequently retired from Vigodom. He died of complications several years later in his vacation home on Novor XVI.

Personality: Sprax is an emminently practical personality. He is very shrewd in political situations, and is also rather opportunistic. If he sees an advantage to be had somewhere, he will take it. Sprax is a little gruff, sarcastic, and to-the-point when dealing with his agents. He is always unflappable, even under intense situations (such as a firefight), considering such incidents to be "minor setbacks." He has an affinity for the Rebel Alliance, perhaps because much of his profit is made up of stolen ships and supplies that are sold to the Rebellion. He has made it a point in the past to get good relations with the Rebels, to the point where he had his agents recover the plans to the second Death Star from a rival Vigo so that they could be delivered. He doesn't get involved with slavery and other "ethically loose" activities...the normal activities of Vigodom are more than enough for him. He also tolerates a great deal of independence in his agents. Perhaps it is because he trusts their skills, and feels that if he hampers them they could not work as well for him.

Appearance: Vigo Sprax is an aging Nalroni. He often dresses in the styles of the Brentaal Merchants, and walks with a cane. He dyes his graying hair gold in order to maintain an image of youth. One of his most notable features is his large eyebrows, though you shouldn't mention that to his face. His eyes give an image of cunning and intelligence, as well as an air of tired cynicism.
