Tips and Tricks for MEGA-TF

1. The first thing you want to do it download this File. Click Here to Begin the Download. Or Click Here to get the server maker with maps!! (17MB)

2. Unzip it into your X:\Quake ONLY!! (C:\Quake for most Users) It'll automaticlly setup the programs needed to start your server.

3. Next step is to look for a program called start.bat and then run it. Then once it runs it should come up with a whole bunch of commands. And that is good!

4. Step 4 is to type status and it will come up with :

net address : (your net address)

cpu utilization : 0% (or a different number)

avg response time: 0 ms packets/frame : (A number of pacckets/frame)

Just copy Down your IP number and port, open QuakeWorld annd type in
"connect (your IP number)"

5. For lower pings to your own server and clients connecting to your server run a program called Priority.exe AFTER you run Start.bat. Then connect to your self again. You should be pinging at least 40-60 instead of being over 100.

6. Next thing after that is to click this link. Click Here!!!! Download it and follow the directions to installing it in the download file. That program will make your server MEGA TF. OVERWRITE ANY EXISTING FILES!!!!
IT WILL NOT OVERWRITE ANY CONFIGS OR CUSTOMIZED FILES. Then just test your server and make sure its MEGA TF.

7. Once its MEGA or if you chose, normal TF, there is two ways to admin your server. One way it to type in the QuakeWorld Commands, or use QWAdmin by Dr. Drain. That program is a way to admin your server by clicking what you want to do instead of you typing it. I'd prefer the QWAdmin anyday! Click here for QWAdmin!!
