Weapons:

The defense tower is armed with one or two of the following weapons: Auto Cannon (Imperial Guard ADT), Heavy Bolter (Space Marine ADT), or Shuriken Cannon (Eldar ADT). On ADT's with two weapon mounts, both weapons must be identical. Note that the Heavy Bolter armament may not use the Hellfire shells.

Special:

Defense Towers's are avilable to Imperial Guard, Space Marine, and Eldar forces. Chaos marines may use the Space Marine version and Genestealers may use the Imperial Guard version. Blood Axe Orks may use either the Space Marine or Imperial Guard version.

There are two types of Defense Towers: manned and automated. The Manned Defense Tower (MDT) functions similar to a tank's coupla.

The Automated Defense Tower (ADT) fires upon any enemy unit that comes within its maximum range. The ADT will fire at the closest enemy unit if there are multiple targets.

The ADT may use sustained fire.

The ADT has a BS of 4 for determining hits.

Turret Damage Table (d6)

1-2The weapon targeter(s) are damaged; -1 to all subsequent to hit rolls.
3-4The weapon(s) are disabled. Roll 4+ on each turn or the DT is unable to fire.
5The weapon is severly damaged; it is unable to fire for the rest of the turn. On a dual weapon DT, the remaining weapon may still fire.
6The weapon ammunition explodes destroying the weapons. All models within 2" suffer a S3 hit with a -2 save.

Base Damage Table (d6)

1-2The suspensors are damaged. Roll 4+ on each turn or the DT is off balance and unable to fire.
3-4The targeting computer is damaged. Roll 5+ on each turn or the DT cannot find a target and is unable to fire.
5The target identifier is destroyed. The ADT will randomly fire at any model regardless of nationality or range. This behavior continues until the the ADT is destroyed, the game ends, or the ADT is repaired.
6The power plant is hit and explodes. All models within 3" suffer d3 S4 hits with a -3 save.
