Hidden Acres Christian Center |
This camp is where I worked in the summers of '00 and'01. The spiritural benefits far outweigh any monetary value that you may gain over the summer. Even though the majority of kids come to camp seeking a week of games, fun is the secondary priority to God. Our purpose is to teach campers the truth from the Bible that they can have everlasting life in heaven. Also, we encourage those who have already trusted Christ to be their savior to live more like Him. |
Campers can enjoy an intense game of carpetball in their free time, but the skills they learn here will not do them any good after they go home. However, what they learn in chapel and in their devotions with their counselors will impact them for the long-term. |
Over the summer, the staff becomes very tight, being able to share their innermost struggles with one another, and encourage each other. A good accountability partner is a great asset to becoming more Christ- like, and one staff member will challenge another, hopeing to sharpen each other. This picture is from staff training '00. Aaron, Jake, and Andy were doing a skit to illustrate what happens if a staff member sneaks off the grounds to go get something to eat at Casey's. |
