Here are some of the most basic strategies of Warcraft II which applies to both Humans and Orcs. From getting started, to what to build next. Hopefully these basic strategies will be usefull to you.
The Most Basic of all strategies
The most basic of all strategies is the peons/peasant. Whatever you do, your peons/peasant are the most important, the more peons/peasant, the better off you are. They are what give you the gold and lumber. Training tonnes of peons/peasant lets you get gold faster too.
The Tower
In order to have the best protection of towers, instead of using those crappy walls, use farms to block them in. This way it is harder for the opponents to get to the tower and destroy it. You can give more damage to your opponents too.
Two Towning
The 2 towning technique is very useful if you want to play a long game and have a lot of resources ready. To do this, you have to:
1. Make a townhall
2. After Hall is done, make a farm
3. After farm is done, make another peon, use 1st peon to explore other areas of the map (to find another mine)
4. When you find another mine, quickly make a Hall there (make sure the mine is not occupied by opponents)
5. Once 2nd peon is trained, use it to make farms.
6. Now, you are all set for both mines, just make sure you are well defended.
Grunt Rush
This is used to defeat your opponents real fast or to weaken your opponent. This is used by many online gamers, so I do recommend you trying this out. It is very useful. This is what you should do:
1. Make a TownHall
2. Use the peon to make a Farm
3. After finishing the farm, make another peon, and use the 1st peon to make a barrack
4. Now that both peons are out, make another peon and then use that 2nd peon to help repair the barrack
5. Use the 3rd peon (which is now done training) to make another farm, after the farm is done, make another one, then get gold
6. Remember, keep on training peons no matter what, always make peons, that's the key to getting gold and lumber FAST!
7. From now on, which ever peons are trained, make them get gold or chop for lumber
8. Once the barrack is done, use 1 of the peon to make another barrack, the 2nd peon to make a blacksmith
9. Now, keep on making grunts or footmens, train as much as possible.
10. After blacksmith is done, go upgrade weapons and armor, any of your choice, this is to enhance the strength of grunts/footmens
11. Once this is done, train as much as 8 grunts/footmens, go attack! Do not train archers/axe-throwers, cause they are weak and pathetic, there are only some exceptions to this.
12. Keep on training peons, make whatever is left to build, (lumbermill, upgrade to stronghold/keep)
