Alae was the first born child to Liliandrin and Darthala, of the noble House LeBane.
She received formal court training, as she was meant to be High Seat of House LeBane when her
parents passed away. She learned magic and the art of the sword, against the wishes of her family.
During the Drow Wars, she commanded a legion against the dark elves, alongside her twin Rheana, and
sister Arien. Arien died in battle, and Alae and Rheana followed the dark elves back to the Underdark
to take revenge, disappearing for fifty-eight years. During this time, Alae had sworn herself into the
service of the Citeran god, whose name may not be mentioned, for her presence would be invoked. When
they returned, the War of the Houses had already torn apart the land. When her parents died,
Alae took over as High Seat, and pulled House LeBane from the battle for the Citeran
throne. Alae, Rheana, and a cousin, Faelyn from the House D'Coutte, combined their
powers to create a safe haven, known as the "Light Forest." When the House in control
attempted to seize the LeBane estates, including the Light Forest, Alae called on the
aide of her master, and forced the House into submission. The more powerful Houses
supported Alae as Queen, but she declined, announcing that she took the Oaths of a
priestess. Rheana and Lorander (Alae's brother) both fought for the throne, so Alae
made the suggestion that they abolish the monarchy, and instead have a triumverate.
The Regent would control the basics, the Master of Arms, the armies, and the High
Priest(or priestess), the spiritual. The noble Houses elected Rheana as Regent,
Lorander as Master of Arms, and Alae, despite her protests, as High Priestess. From
this point forward, Alae has served as High Priestess..That is, until recent times.
Alae grew dissatisfied with her servitude to the One, and at risk of great peril to
herself, broke all ties to the God. She retired from her position, electing her cousin,
Faelyn, as her successor. Alae left the lands of Citera, to settle in the lands of Rhy'Din.
She had built herself a small house far into the woods where few people range, and most recently has very rarely been seen venturing far from it. Ancient by her peoples standards, she was beginning to show signs of age; faint lines at the corners of her eyes and mouth, the skin of hands starting to turn papery. The years were no longer being so kind to her...
