Bosses
Bowser
Bowser is the same green dinosaur that Mario has had to face in countless
other adventures. Attack the Kinklink, the chain holding the chandelier,
instead of attacking Bowser himself. When Kinklink is destroyed, Bowser will
fall. The Kinklink has about 75 Hit Points. Attack using Timed Hits and try
to lessen the damage you receive by using Timed Blocks.
The Hammer Brothers
The Hammer Brothers are two turtles with black shells and helmets that are
blocking a path in Mushroom Way. They have 60 Hit Points each and you should
be at least Level 2. Attack each of them using Timed Hits and try to lessen
the damage they give you by using Timed Blocks. If you are having trouble
defeating them, you can build your level up in this area by fighting lots
of Spikes and Sky Troopas. Once you have defeated them you'll receive the
Hammer.
Croco
Croco is a purple crocodile that you will encounter in various locations
throughout the game. Bandit's Way is the first place where you will actually
have to fight him. You will also have to fight Croco later in the Moleville
Mine. Croco has about 582 Hit Points. The only party members available at
this point are Mario and Mallow, and both should be near Level 4. Have Mario
attack with the Hammer and have Mallow use his Thunderbolt spell. Use Timed
Hits to increase the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage
he gives you by using Timed Blocks.
Mack
Mack is a sword-shaped enemy you encounter in the Mushroom Kingdom. Mack
has about 505 Hit Points. The only party members available to fight Mack
are Mario and Mallow and they should be near Level 5. Have Mario attack with
the Hammer and have Mallow use his Thunderbolt spell. Use Timed Hits to increase
the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage you receive
by using Timed Blocks.
Belome
Belome is a dog-like enemy that has a rather large tongue. Kero Sewers is
the first place you will encounter him. Belome has about 536 Hit Points,
and your party should be near Level 6 for this battle. Have Mario attack
with the Hammer and have Mallow use his Thunderbolt spell or punch attack.
Use Timed Hits to increase the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen
the damage you recieve by using Timed Blocks.
Bowyer
Bowyer is a bow-like creature that has three squares representing buttons
on the controller in front of him. He will periodically launch arrows that
strike one of the buttons. The button it strikes cannot be used until he
hits another button. Bowyer is found in the Forest Maze and has about 768
Hit Points. Mario, Mallow, and Geno will be in this battle and should be
around Level 7. Have Mario attack with the NokNok Shell, Mallow use the Ribbit
Stick, and Geno use the Geno Beam. As always, use Timed Hits to increase
the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage you receive
by using Timed Blocks.
Croco (Again)
When you encounter Croco in the Moleville Mine, Mario, Mallow, and Geno should
be around Level 8. Have Mario attack with the Punch Glove, Mallow use the
Froggie Stick, and Geno use the Finger Shot. As always, use Timed Hits to
increase the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage they
give you by using Timed Blocks.
Punchinello
Punchinello is an enemy with purple arms that is shaped like the letter M.
It will make bombs of various sizes appear to try and defeat you. Punchinello
is found in the Moleville Mine and has about 1248 Hit Points. Your party
should be near Level 8. Have Mario attack with the Punch Glove, Mallow use
the Ribbit Stick, and Geno use the Finger Shot. As always, use Timed Hits
to increase the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage
they give you by using Timed Blocks.
Knife Guy And Grate Guy
Knife Guy and Grate Guy are two clown-like enemies. Knife Guy has a dagger
in his hand and Grate Guy balances on a ball. You will fight them in Booster
Tower. Knife Guy has about 788 Hit Points and Grate Guy has about 977 Hit
Points. Use Mario, Geno, and Bowser for this battle and make sure their
experience levels around 10. Concentrate your attacks on either Knife Guy
or Grate Guy until one of them is destroyed, then attack the other one. Have
Mario use the Masher, Geno use the Finger Shot, and Bowser use the Chomp.
As always, use Timed Hits to increase the amount of damage you inflict and
try to lessen the damage they give you by using Timed Blocks. You will receive
a Flower Jar for defeating them.
Bundt
Bundt starts off as a huge wedding cake with candles on top of it. As the
battle progresses, the candles go out. Eventually, the enemy's name turns
to Raspberry. You will encounter Bundt in Marrymore. Bundt has about 2751
Hit Points and Mario, Geno, and Bowser should be at Level 11. Concentrate
your attacks on the cake and ignore Chef Torte and his assistant -- they
will run away from the battle. Have Mario use the Masher, Geno use the Hand
Gun, and Bowser use the Chomp. As always, use Timed Hits to increase the
amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage you receive by
using Timed Blocks.
King Calamari
King Calamari is a large white squid in the Sunken Ship. In the first two
rooms of the battle, all you will see are his tentacles which you need to
destroy to move on to the next screen. King Calamari has about 3200 Hit Points
and you should use Mario, Princess Toadstool, and Bowser. Level 12 is
recommended. Have Mario use the Masher, Princess Toadstool heal the party
with Group Hug or attack with the Slap Gloves, and Bowser use the Chomp.
As always, use Timed Hits to increase the amount of damage you inflict and
try to lessen the damage you receive by using Timed Blocks.
Jonathan Jones
Jonathan Jones is a large blue shark with a pitchfork who resides in the
Sunken Ship. He will eventually turn red and then challenge Mario to a one-on-one
fight. Jonathan Jones has about 565 Hit Points until he decides to fight
Mario one on one; then he has about 860 Hit Points. The four Blue Bandanas
have about 220 Hit Points each. Use Mario, Mallow, and Bowser at Level 13.
Have Mario use the Masher, Mallow use Thunderbolt and HP Rain, and Bowser
use the Hurly Gloves. As always, use Timed Hits to increase the amount of
damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage you receive by using Timed
Blocks.
Yaridovich
Yaridovich is a skeleton-like enemy wearing a red cape, who has a spear in
its hand. He is located at Seaside Town. Yaridovich has about 1600 Hit Points.
Any points wasted on hitting the wrong version of Yaridovich during his Mirage
Attack will not count. Use Mario, Princess Toadstool, and Bowser at Level
14. Have Mario use the Masher, Princess Toadstool heal the party with Group
Hug or attack with the Slap Gloves, and Bowser use the Hurly Gloves. As always,
use Timed Hits to increase the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen
the damage they give you by using Timed Blocks. When Yaridovich uses the
Mirage Attack, he will split into two images. The one that takes the least
amount of damage is the real one -- attack it for you're worth!
Belome 2
Land's End is the second place where fight this dog-like enemy. Belome 2
has about 1290 Hit Points. Use Mario, Princess Toadstool, and Bowser at Level
16. Have Mario use the Masher, Princess Toadstool heal the party with Group
Hug or attack with the Parasol, and Bowser use the Hurly Gloves. As always,
use Timed Hits to increase the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen
the damage you receive by using Timed Blocks.
Smilax
Smilax is a Piranha Plant in Bean Valley that has multiple heads. There will
be a Shyguy that fertilizes it to make it grow. Smilax has about 1290 Hit
Points. Use Mario, Princess Toadstool, and Bowser at Level 18. Have Mario
use the Masher, Princess Toadstool heal the party with Group Hug or attack
with the Parasol, and Bowser use the Spiked Link. As always, use Timed Hits
to increase the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage
they give you by using Timed Blocks.
Culex
Culex is a purple demon with red wings and horns who is found in Monstro
Town behind the locked door. You may remember him from Final Fantasy
2, complete with FF2 music. You don't have to defeat him to win the game!
There are four crystals (red, blue, yellow, and green) that are between your
party and Culex. Culex has about 4320 Hit Points. The Red Fire Crystal has
about 2704 HP. The Blue Water Crystal has about 1890 HP. The Yellow Earth
Crystal has about 3270 Hit Points. The Green Air Crystal has about 800 Hit
Points.
Have Mario, Princess Toadstool, and Bowser in your party and make sure they're
at Level 26 or higher. Have Mario use the Lazy Shell, Princess Toadstool
heal the party with Group Hug or attack with the Frying Pan, and Bowser use
the Drill Claw if you have it. As always, use Timed Hits to increase the
amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage you receive by
using Timed Blocks.
Shelly And Birdo
Shelly and Birdo will look very familiar to veterans of Super Mario Brothers
2! This enemy starts off as an egg, then hatches to reveal a pink dinosaur
that shoots eggs. You will find them in the Nimbus Land Castle. Shelly has
about 720 Hit Points and Birdo has about 820 Hit Points. Use Mario, Princess
Toadstool, and Bowser at Level 21. Have Mario use the Mega Glove, Princess
Toadstool heal the party with Group Hug or attack with the War Fan, and Bowser
use the Spiked Link. As always, use Timed Hits to increase the amount of
damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage they give you by using Timed
Blocks.
Dodo
Dodo is a big, black bird that wears a helmet. If you successfully avoid
Dodo, you won't fight him in your first encounter with him in the Nimbus
Land Castle. Dodo has about 920 Hit Points and using Mario, Princess Toadstool,
and Bowser at Level 20 is recommended. Have Mario use the Mega Glove, Princess
Toadstool heal the party with Group Hug or attack with the War Fan, and Bowser
use the Spiked Link. As always, use Timed Hits to increase the amount of
damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage you receive by using Timed
Blocks.
When you fight Dodo for the second time, he will carry off the second member
of your party. Be sure to have a strong character, like Bowser, in that position!
Dodo has about 410 Hit Points this time. Timed Hits and Timed Blocks are
still a good idea here.
Valentina
Valentina is a tall enemy who has a green parrot on her head. She is sitting
on a crescent shaped platform that is suspended in the air in Nimbus Land.
Valentina has about 2060 Hit Points and using Mario, Princess Toadstool,
and Bowser at Level 23 is recommended. Concentrate all of your attacks on
Valentina, since it doesn't matter if you attack Dodo at all. Have Mario
use the Mega Glove, Princess Toadstool heal the party with Group Hug or attack
with the War Fan, and Bowser use the Spiked Link. As always, use Timed Hits
to increase the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage
they give you by using Timed Blocks.
Czar Dragon And Zombone
Czar Dragon is a dragon made of lava in the Barrel Volcano. Zombone is a
dragon skeleton that appears after you have done a lot of damage to Czar
Dragon. Czar Dragon has about 1420 Hit Points, then changes to Zombone who
has about 480 Hit Points. Use Mario, Princess Toadstool, and Bowser at Level
24. Have Mario use the Lazy Shell, Princess Toadstool heal the party with
Group Hug or attack with the War Fan, and Bowser use the Spiked Link. As
always, use Timed Hits to increase the amount of damage you inflict and try
to lessen the damage you receive by using Timed Blocks.
Axem Rangers
The Axem Rangers are a group of five enemies: one wearing pink, one wearing
black, one wearing red, one wearing yellow, and one wearing green. They fight
for evil and struggle for chaos. They also give the least amount of money
and experience for the amount of work required to defeat them. You will encounter
them in the Barrel Volcano.
Axem Pink has about 440 Hit Points, Axem Green has about 660 Hit Points,
Axem Yellow has about 620 Hit Points, Axem Red has about 1040 Hit Points,
and Axem Black has about 720 Hit Points. The Axem Rangers Ship has about
1040 Hit Points. Use Mario, Princess Toadstool, and Bowser at Level 26.
Attack the Rangers one at a time, starting with Axem Pink, then defeat Axem
Green, Axem Yellow, Axem Red, and Axem Black in that order. You will then
have to fight the head of the ship, which is just called Axem Rangers. Have
Mario use the Lazy Shell, Princess Toadstool heal the party with Group Hug
or attack with the War Fan, and Bowser use the Spiked Link. As always, use
Timed Hits to increase the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen
the damage they give you by using Timed Blocks.
Boomer
Boomer looks like a red armored robot that turns blue during the battle.
He is located in Bowser's Keep and has about 2160 Hit Points. Have Mario,
Princess Toadstool, and Bowser in your party and built-up to Level 26. Have
Mario use the Lazy Shell, Princess Toadstool heal the party with Group Hug
or attack with the Frying Pan, and Geno use the Star Gun. As always, use
Timed Hits to increase the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen
the damage you receive by using Timed Blocks.
Exor
Exor looks like a giant sword handle with eyes and is located in Bowser's
Keep. This is the same sword that crashed in to Bowser's Keep in the beginning
of the game. It will take about 1210 Hit Points to disable an eye and about
1870 Hit Points to destroy Exor. Have Mario, Princess Toadstool, and Bowser
in your party and built up to Level 26. Have Mario use the Lazy Shell, Princess
Toadstool heal the party with Group Hug or attack with the Frying Pan, and
Geno use the Star Gun, except use Geno Whirl on the eye, and it will kill
it automatically. As always, use Timed Hits to increase the amount of damage
you inflict and try to lessen the damage you receive by using Timed Blocks.
Clock
Clock is a giant alarm clock located at the Factory. The face of the clock
is called Count Down and the two bells are called Ding-A-Ling. Each bell
of Ding-A-Ling has about 1220 HP. Count Down, the main part has about 2588
HP. Use Mario, Princess Toadstool, and Bowser at Level 27. Attack the two
bells first, then attack the face of the clock. Have Mario use the Lazy Shell,
Princess Toadstool heal the party with Group Hug or attack with the Frying
Pan, and Bowser use the Drill Claw. As always, use Timed Hits to increase
the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage they give you
by using Timed Blocks.
Cloaker And Domino
Cloaker has a white beard and moustache, and carries a sword and a round
shield. Domino is wearing a purple executioner's mask and a blue cape. Cloaker
uses physical attacks, while Domino uses special attacks. They are found
at the Gate and have about 1200 Hit Points each. Use Mario, Princess Toadstool,
and Bowser at Level 27. You only have to defeat one of them, so it is better
to concentrate your attacks on Domino. Have Mario use the Lazy Shell, Princess
Toadstool heal the party with Group Hug or attack with the Frying Pan, and
Bowser use the Drill Claw. As always, use Timed Hits to increase the amount
of damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage they give you by using
Timed Blocks.
Earthlink And Adder
Earthlink and the Mad Adder are names used for a giant, purple cobra that
merges with either Domino or Cloaker. If you destroyed Domino, then the snake
will be called Earthlink. If you defeated Cloaker, then the snake would be
called Mad Adder. This boss has about 2800 Hit Points. Use Mario, Princess
Toadstool, and Bowser at Level 27. Concentrate your attacks on the snake
instead of the other enemy. Have Mario use the Lazy Shell, Princess Toadstool
heal the party with Group Hug or attack with the Frying Pan, and Bowser use
the Drill Claw. As always, use Timed Hits to increase the amount of damage
you inflict and try to lessen the damage you receive by using Timed Blocks.
Clerk
The Clerk is a short, gold knight with a black shield and a big axe. This
is the first enemy you meet in Smithy's Factory. The Clerk has about 571
Hit Points. Use Mario, Princess Toadstool, and Bowser in your party at Level
27. Attack the Clerk firs, then attack the rest of the enemies. Have Mario
use the Lazy Shell, Princess Toadstool heal the party with Group Hug or attack
with the Frying Pan, and Bowser use the Drill Claw. You may want to use some
of your Special Attacks that affect all of the enemies to help get rid of
the Mad Mallets and still damage the main enemy. Try Princess Toadstool's
Psych Bomb and Bowser's Bowser Crush. As always, use Timed Hits to increase
the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage you receive
by using Timed Blocks.
Manager
The Manager is a short, blue knight with a black shield and a big axe. This
is the second enemy in Smithy's Factory. The Manager has about 890 Hit Points.
Use Mario, Princess Toadstool, and Bowser at Level 27. Attack the Manager
first, then finish off the rest of the enemies. Have Mario use the Lazy Shell,
Princess Toadstool heal the party with Group Hug or attack with the Frying
Pan, and Bowser use the Drill Claw. You may want to use some of your Special
Attacks that affect all of the enemies to help get rid of the Pounder and
still damage the main enemy. Try using Princess Toadstool's Psych Bomb and
Bowser's Bowser Crush. As always, use Timed Hits to increase the amount of
damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage you receive by using Timed
Blocks.
Director
The Director is a short, red knight with a black shield and a big axe in
Smithy's Factory. The Director has about 1040 Hit Points. Use Mario, Princess
Toadstool, and Bowser at Level 27. You should concentrate your attacks on
the Director first, then finish off the rest of the enemies. Have Mario use
the Lazy Shell, Princess Toadstool heal the party with Group Hug or attack
with the Frying Pan, and Bowser use the Drill Claw. You may want to use some
of your Special Attacks that affect all of the enemies to help get rid of
the Poundettes and still damage the main enemy. Try using Princess Toadstool's
Psych Bomb and Bowser's Bowser Crush. As always, use Timed Hits to increase
the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage you receive
by using Timed Blocks.
Factory Chief And Gunyolk
The Factory Chief has black armor and purple shoes. Gunyolk is a large, metal
vat with molten metal inside of it. Gunyolk has about 1450 Hit Points and
the Factory Chief has about 1020 Hit Points. Use Mario, Princess Toadstool,
and Bowser at Level 27. Attack Gunyolk first, since it uses a lot of Special
Attacks that affect your entire party. Then attack the Factory Chief to finish
off the battle. Have Mario use the Lazy Shell, Princess Toadstool heal the
party with Group Hug or attack with the Frying Pan, and Bowser use the Drill
Claw. As always, use Timed Hits to increase the amount of damage you inflict
and try to lessen the damage you receive by using Timed Blocks.
Smithy And Smelter
Smithy has curly beard, long mustache, and bushy eyebrows. He wears a crown
and a carries a huge hammer. Smelter is a golden spout on the far left side
of the screen. Smelter has about 1590 Hit Points, Smithy has about 2060 Hit
Points and the Shysters, that the Smithy makes, have about 550 Hit Points
each. Have Mario, Princess Toadstool, and Bowser in your party and built
up to Level 28 or higher. Attack the Smelter first, or it will help Smithy
produce more Shysters, which use Special Attacks that affect your entire
party. Then finish off Smithy and any Shysters you have left. Have Mario
use the Lazy Shell, Princess Toadstool heal the party with Group Hug or attack
with the Frying Pan, and Bowser use the Drill Claw. You may want to use some
of your Special Attacks that affect all of the enemies to help get rid of
the Shysters and still damage the main enemies. Try using Princess Toadstool's
Psych Bomb and Bowser's Bowser Crush. As always, use Timed Hits to increase
the amount of damage you inflict and try to lessen the damage they give you
by using Timed Blocks.
Smithy
When Smithy turns in to his true form, he has a head that looks like a toaster,
a metal block for a body, and a huge hammer in his hand. Smithy's head will
transform into a tank, wizard, mailbox, and a blue hexagonal box. Each head
has different attributes. The tank does powerful attacks. The wizard uses
Special Attacks that affect all of your party members. The mailbox hides
a creature that tries to eliminate one of your party members. The blue hexagonal
box has the highest defense. Smithy's head has about 8040 Hit Points and
Smithy's body has about 1300 Hit Points. Have Mario, Princess Toadstool,
and Bowser in your party and built up to Level 28 or higher. Concentrate
your attacks on Smithy's head. Use power-up items like Crystalline and Power
Blast. Have Mario use the Lazy Shell, Princess Toadstool heal the party with
Group Hug or attack with the Frying Pan, and Bowser use the Drill Claw. As
always, use Timed Hits to increase the amount of damage you inflict and try
to lessen the damage they give you by using Timed Blocks.
