Star Ocean: The Second Story is the second Star Ocean game. The original was released on the Super Famicom
in Japan in 1996. The Second Story begins 30 years after the original left off. Unlike most RPG's Star Ocean doesn't have a turn based battle system. The game has a very unique active-time system in which the party attacks and uses their abilities at the same time

Oh yes, the graphics in Star Ocean: The Second Story are truly breathtaking. Personally I think this is a very important aspect in role playing games. But there is something very vital missing in this game, I just don't know what it is. Enix has probably put a lot of effort making this game, but the result is just an average RPG with an average story, average characters and average music. I just couldn't find it engaging.
