Name: Glyphwarding Known Range: Unknown Derived From: Generic Mage Spell Types: Warding, enhancement, invokement Spellcasting Style: Pre-built spells embedded onto parchment with certain glyphs in special ink, usually invoked by the scriber. Advantages: Well-learned, can read/understand most languages. Disadvantages: Unsuited for combat, usually aren't strong. The rare and mysterious Glyphwarders, students of the Book of Kholin, are a specialized group of mages who work their magics through parchment. They are versed in the difficult Talcryl language, which hold the component patterns of magic and are easily useable to those who know the right glyphs. The objects of their trade are excellent-quality parchment, and special ink prepared by the Warder. (What that is, is entirely up to the player. :] ) Making a single glyph takes time, but it can be done in one turn with a lessened result. Most of their magic is released by calling the glyphs on the parchment and forcing the magic out properly, then guiding the result to a chosen location of the Warder. The same can be done on other surfaces, but the usual result is the total destruction of whatever the glyphs has been written on. Anyone who tries to remove the ink will need to do it by strong magical means (or the Universal Solvent, if you've got it.) An apprentice is often called a Glyphward, while a titled mage is refered to as a Glyphscribe. Elders of this magic are known collectively as Glyphkeepers, but can refer to themselves as anything they earned.
