Any who have passed near Tallis in the recent seven days (ooc: August 18th, 1998, rl date) will likely have heard the screams.

Howls of pain, rising to screams of absolute anguish and agony echo from the Inquisitorial Trinity Hall. Rising and falling, sometimes lasting for over an hour, sometimes choking off harshly after only a few minutes of horrible, screaming agony. Whatever suffers such pain does so 24 hours a day, perhaps the agony making it impossible to sleep, perhaps it doesnt need sleep. At times, several hours of silence go by, but always, the screams begin again. For seven days and nights, screams echo out of that Hall, matching even the worst Inquisitorial wars, in which Heretics might be brought in and questioned daily. Exactly seven days after the screaming began, it goes silent. For a few hours, the Tallisians simply think that they are blessed with a long period of silence. However, after another day has passed, it becomes clear that the screams have stopped. Whoever, or whatever, was howling with such pain, perhaps now they, or it, no longer suffer. Perhaps.
