VALUE
Syntax: value <object <shopkeeper
VALUE asks the shop keeper how much he, she, or it will buy the item for.
BUY, LIST, SELL, and VALUE, as well as most other object manipulation commands,
allow the use of #.object format, where # is a number or the word "all". For
example, if "list" showed you that a shopkeeper had five daggers, and you were
interested in buying the third one, you would type: "buy 3.dagger".
In most cases you do not need to specify which shopkeeper you wish to
deal with. However, you may need to do so if there is more than one present
in the same room.
'VAMPIRIC TOUCH'
Syntax: cast 'vampiric touch' <character
This spell will drain hit points from the victim and add them to those of
the caster. Unlike ENERGY DRAIN, it can only drain what the caster is able
to feed upon, so the spell has no effect if the caster is already at maximum
hit points. It is ineffective against undead creatures.
VENTRILOQUATE
Syntax: cast ventriloquate <speaker <message
This spell throws your voice, making it appear that some other object or
character in the room is saying your message. Victims who make their saving
throw will know that someone is using ventriloquism, but not who. Victims who
fail their saving throw will think that the object or character really did say
your message.
VISIBLE
Syntax: visible
In order to use HIDE, SLINK, SNEAK, or STEALTH successfully, you must practice
the appropriate skill.
VISIBLE cancels all of the skills mentioned above, as well as any invisibility,
making you visible again.
