I Believe...
- That there is one God, existing in Three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)
- in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, his virgin birth, his sinless life, his miracles, his atoning death through his shed blood, his bodily resurrection, his ascension to the right hand of the Father and in his personal bodily return in power and glory. (John 20:30-31; Luke 1:26-38; Hebrews 9:11-28; Matthew 28; Acts 1:9-10; 1 Corinthians 15)
- in the Deity and humanity of Jesus Christ
- that the Bible IN ITS ENTIRETY is the authorized and inspired word of God, a measuring rod (canon) to be used to test all things said. (Deut. 13:1-5; Deut. 18:14-22; Gal. 1:6-9)
- in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, in the same manner and fashion that he has worked in from the beginning of the church
- That all true believers possess the Holy Spirit, including the various gifts that God has embued them with, as according to His will and purpose (1 Cor. 12; Rom. 12:6-8; Romans 8:9)
- That the primary evidence of the Holy Spirit is NOT the presence of a specific Spiritual Gift (like tongues, prophesy, etc.) but by a life of Godliness, holiness and righteousness. (1 Cor. 12-14; Gal. 5:19-26; The teachings in the Law, the Prophets and the Gospels)
- in the present day ministry of Apostle (as missionary and church planter), Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher (Ephesians 4:11-13)
- in the Lordship of Jesus Christ over the church of all true believers.
- in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ Jesus; with distinct forms of worship in each local body. (Mark 9:38-41; 1 Cor. 1:10-17; 1 Cor. 3; Eph. 4:3-5)
- in water baptism as a public acknowledgment and proclamation of Christ’s saving grace in a persons life and as fulfillment of the churches calling to baptize in Jesus’ name.
- in the Lord’s Supper (communion/eucharist) for all believers.
- In the importance of tithes and offerings as the basis by which the work of God is financed, and as expressions of our love for Jesus Christ and his church.
- in the individual and corporate worship as is recorded in the Old and New Testaments
- that all people are equally loved by God... In the Kingdom of God, all division and hierarchies are irrelevant, and a product of the FALL, not of the new life of GRACE. (Gal. 3:26-29; Eph. 2:11-22; Eph. 5:21; Col. 3:11)
- in the creation and fall of humanity, as literally recorded in Genesis 1-3, and that as a result of the fall, that creation fell from its intended purpose to the creation and world that we currently experience.
- That God's offer of salvation is free and open to all, given by grace, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, not by anything that we do.
- That all who call upon the Lord in Jesus' name, who truly believe that Jesus is the Lord of their lives, and thus obey what he commands them, are truly saved, and are truly Christian.
- The promise of eternal life for all true Christians, and the reality of eternal damnation for the ungodly - which would include the unjust, the liars, the hypocrites, the sexually immoral, and those who reject God... (Isaiah 5:8-25; Isaiah 58:1ff; Isaiah 66:2b; Jeremiah 5:1ff; Jeremiah 7:9-15; Matt. 5:20; Matt. 25:31-46; Romans 11:20; Gal. 5:16-26; 1 Thess. 4:3-8; Revelation 21:27)
- in the reality and personality of Satan and his fallen angels, who rebelled against God but were defeated, and were thrown down to the earth. Also in the victory that we have won over these forces through Christ, and the command not to fear or worship these beings (Col. 2:18-19; Romans 8:28-39; Ephesians 6:10-20)
