The gnome frowns for some reason, but then shrugs and motions for you to follow after him. He leads you along the path down onto a road leading into a thick forest. He takes you to the forest, then pauses. "I don't much like it in there," he says. "And I know that I am not welcome in the lands of Ohev Da'ath, the keeper and steward of these lands. I can not go further. But if you keep on the path, it will take you straight into the heart of his kingdom."
You watch the gnome's eyes widen then. You look into the forest. From the shadows of the trees step two elves. Both have dark hair and eyes, and their skin is the color of copper. One of them has a bow drawn and leveled at you. The other is pointing at the gnome. "Be gone, gnomeling," the one elf demands. The gnome doesn't move at first. So the elf shoots at the ground directly at his feet. "I said, be gone!" With that, the gnome jumps, and flees as fast as his legs could carry him.
"His kind are always causing trouble in these lands." the elf says to you. "And this one never learns that only those whom either the Master or the steward summon or permit entrance may enter here." He walks confidently over to you and looks you up and down. His lifts his brow then, surprised by your rather outlandish garb. "I take it that you seek to enter Da'ath?" All that you can do is nod.
"Do not be afraid of us," the elf says. He motions for his companion to lower his bow. "For Da'ath is a land of truth and enlightenment, even though it is a land filled with secrets. And we are only the gatekeepers. The one you should fear is the Master, for he is great and mighty, but he only reveals himself to those who truly seek him."
You mean Ohev Da'ath?" you ask.
The elf looks at you for a moment with the same lifted eyebrow before smirking. "No. Ohev Da'ath is merely the steward. The Master was the one who established all that you see around you." He motions with his hand toward the path into the forest. "I could take you into our lands, if you would like. But first, you must change... Unlike other lands, you can not enter Da'ath as you are. You must be transformed."
Much of the kingdom is hidden from you. However, you may see all of the areas under the stewardship of Ohev.
Here is a passage into the archives of knowledge. Only the humble and those seeking truth should enter. They should be willing to be transformed the right way. Ohev has many questions, and he seeks to answer them through transformation and sight. Other realms await. These are realms of light and darkness, of life and death. Choose wisely, for you will be transformed by the journeys you take. Ohev advises a look at these realms. Come and see what you may, but not all can be seen. Ohev may tell you some things, but much of his life remains secret.Last modified June 29, 2004
