INSPIRATION FOR SALESPEOPLE: A COLLECTION OF HEARTWARMING QUOTATIONS TO MOVE THE SOUL

10/01

The lameass quotes return! Unfortunately, there's not that much in the way of goodness here, because my resources have all but dried up.  Thus, I'm gonna have to wait until more quotes find their way into the building to update this again.  However, that aside, there's still this meagre selection to paw through, so by all means, enjoy what is here.
Or don't... I'm not gonna beat you over the head with it if you're not in the mood to enjoy things.

1. "You can be your own boss."

Deeper meaning:
Well, since I'm scraping the bottom here, this is rather self-evident.  Life's like that, I suppose.  Why you'd want to order yourself around is beyond me, anyway.

The sad part is there's actually a website devoted to this....

2. "Aim for the sky and shoot for the stars. ."

Deeper meaning:
Aim for the sky and shoot for the stars. I think the term "Deeper Meaning is going to be discontinued, because most of these just require an explanation.  Require, moreover, is probably a strong choice of terms.  Really, I just like having an excuse to talk about whatever stupid quote I happen to have dredged up.

The stars, needless to say, did not take well to being shot.

To Which I Reply:
Walking gets you there just as well, and at least you're not burned out once you get there.  This is one of the stupider ideas that's going around today- that by somehow giving more than you're capable of giving to your job that you can achieve better results.  It might work out in the short term, but after awhile you'll either end up with an ulcer or a profound lack of interest in whatever it is you happen to be doing.  Oh, well.  I guess it keeps people happy.

3.   "Running gets you there faster."

Running in these won't get you anywhere faster, regardless of what this little huckster might tell you.

4. "Feel the fear- and do it anyway!"

To Which I Say:
Okay, fine.  Feel the fear for all I care.  If that's what turns your crank, get the hell feared up so you can do this mysterious 'it', whatever it happens to be.  This is actually the title of a book dedicated to hyping this sort of mindset, and one I was unfortunately subjected to frequently while my mother was in the throes of a customer service training program for a pyramid scheme which would later go belly up after it was converted into a cash cow.  Oh, well.  Got me my first job experience.  No matter that it was child labour... I wasn't complaining.

You too can be crushed by giant dice if only you acknowledge your fear of being crushed by them. Otherwise, you'll just be pulverized.
