The Quake editor Death Match Maker, which I bought at
a software store for about $38 bucks, is kind of
awkward to use! The best part about it is the method
in which to add or 'drop' objects
(ie: weapons, med kits, ammo, etc) into the
current level being built.
In fact, it uses the "drag and drop" method of putting
Quake objects in the design window.
The design window is the top
right window, and the bottom right window is your "walk"
view, or camera view, where you can
actually see your objects
being put into place, as well as lining up textures on
brushes, etc!! (NOTE: I later found a command tool,
something like "make texture fit", which is supposed to
assist you in designing objects that have specific sized
texture alignments, such as the crates, or arched doors!)
On the left I have clicked on the tab that keeps an active
list of all the textures I have used (NICE FEATURE!) in
the currently selected level I'm editing. Another nice
feature is the ability to 'import' levels into the editor
for further updating or rescaling your level!!
