Judge Info: Listing

You can get this file by sending a message to judge@igo.org with the body of "list mensa1"

The information that a judge provides when you ask about a game can seem a bit confusing. Below I've printed out the standard response to the "list" request, along with my comments (in italics) about what the responses mean. Feel free to Email Lisa with more questions.

:: Judge: USEF Game: Mensa1 Variant: Standard
:: Deadline: S1901M Wed Dec 31 1969 16:00:00 PST
Judge name (USEF is the judge on IGO's server), game name (Mensa1) and type (typical, run of the mill Diplomacy), current pending deadline

Game 'mensa1' is waiting for 5 more players to sign on.
Message simply explaining why we're not a live game yet

OK, this is the section that has the real meat
The parameters for 'mensa1' are as follows:
Move clock 1110 min 12.00 next 72.00 grace 168.00 delay 0.50 days -----F-
Retreat clock -1 min 0.00 next 24.00 grace 72.00 delay 0.50 days S----FS
Adjust clock -1 min 0.00 next 24.00 grace 72.00 delay 0.50 days S----FS
Note moves will *only* be set for Friday nights.
First, "clock" is min past midnight that moves are processed. 1110 = 20:30 PST (11:30pm EST)
Because of the days used, a "move" will happen Friday night.
Next, "min" is only to stop runaway games.
Retreats/Adj happen 1 day later at 23:30. There are grace periods for each where you don't lose points.
"next" means next move happens 3 days later, i.e. the following Tuesday night. Finally, delay means the judge waits 1/2 hr after receiving the final moves before processing.

Access: Different-site, Level: Any, Moderated, Dedication: -200.
Access: Each player must be listed as being at a different work/school/etc. in 'register'
Level: All players regardless of level set in 'register'
Moderated: We have a master (Lisa)
Dedication: The 'rating' a player must have to join

Variant: Standard. Standard map we all know and love, no special countries or rules

Flags: NoNMR, NoList, NoProxy, DIAS.
It won't allow a "NMR" i.e. all moves must be in before processing occurs
It's not listed openly, so only us Mensans can join up
No proxy - a player can't submit moves for another player
DIAS: "draws include all survivors", end of game at draw gives everyone a "win" who is left

Press: White, Partial Allowed, No Fake.
White press - press that says it comes from "France" through the judge really DID come from France
Partial allowed - you can send just to France, or just to Germany if you wish
No fake - same concept as white press. You can't "pretend" to be someone else.

Winning Centers: 18.
# of centers someone has to own for the game to automatically end.

Index: 0

At the bottom is a list of current players in the game
The following players are signed up for game 'mensa1':

  Master 363 lshea@earthling.net
  a power Detente67@aol.com
  a power eyoung@sd22.bc.ca

They're still "a power" because countries are not assigned until all players have signed on with their preferences. Note that Lisa has a "rating" of 363 by her. This has nothing to do with winning or losing a lot, merely that she has proven herself as someone who gets moves in on time. Positive rating = good track record, negative rating = misses moves a lot. New members start with a neutral rating of 0.
