Site FAQ

Welcome to the Site FAQ. In this page I will do my best to answer any questions a visitor may have about me, my work, or my site. If you have a question that's not listed here, please don't hesitate to e-mail me about it. I'll reply with your answer and, if given permission, will post your question below. Anyhow, on with the FAQ!

Who are you?

Tericon, at your service. Just your run-of-the-mill sales asociate, gamer, otaku. I'm a resident of Scranton Pennsylvania, which is certainly located on the eastern coast of the United States of America. I enjoy roleplaying, playing vidio games solo or online, and (this goes without saying) writing. My blood type is O-Positive. I wear sneakers to protect my feet from the filthy sidewalks. I dislike open places and crowds. That just about sums me up.

Why do you write?

Enjoyment. I like to write, and I love to flex my creative muscles. It makes life much less boring, and in creating my own little worlds I am able to achieve a level of escapism unattainable through any other means.

When do you write?

I can produce a half-decent story at any time of day, as long as I'm in the mood to write. For all my good stuff to come out, however, the following conditions must be met:

What do you write?

Although I have produced some short novellas, I am most comfortable with short short stories, and occasionally short stories. I also tend toward science fiction, a genre I enjoy reading and am much better at writing than any other genre.

What do you read?

Not much, actually. On the Scifi subject, I've read a lot of Asimov and Clarke, a little Clement and some collections of short stories from various authors. As far as fantasy goes, I'm not all that well read. I've read the Dragonlance Chronicles by Weiss and Hickman, the magewar trilogy by Lakey as well as half of Magic's Pawn (until I decided that I didn't care for any of the characters at all), but that's all. I want to read the Lord of the Rings trilogy as well as The Hobbit, but any inspiration I may recieve from the late Tolkien would be minimal, as I am an avid player of Dungeons and Dragons, which is based on Middle Earth itself. I do realize that it's not 100% accurate by any means, as well as the fact that Tolkien has a descriptive writing style that I could definately benefit from sampling, but the ammount of inspiration I would recieve just wouldn't be as much as reading something different, a completely new idea (to me at least). I will eventually get around to it, but Tolkien's jsut not too high up on my list right now.

You transpose a lot of letters. Why?

I have yet to be tested for it, but I am certain that I am mildly dyslexic. I transpose when typing/writing, I read through memorizing what specific words look like (thus stumbling over nouns and other new words) and find it extremely difficult to read aloud (just ask anyone who has played under me as DM). I've learned to deal with it by now, but sometimes I may transpose and not notice it myself. I left the word in the last sentence of the previous answer uncorrected purposefully as an example (although I didn't transpose it on purpose).

What do you submit to this site?

Just about everything I've written since the site's rebirth into beauty (thank you SHODAN), as well as some of my earlier stuff. There really isn't much criteria for something I submit.

Are your works of fiction copyright protected?

Absolutely not. Ideas should never be copyrighted (unless they are your primary sourse of income). You can consider any and all content on this site to be open content, all I want is credit if you're going to display my work elsewhere completely unmodified. That includes excerpts.

What's stopping me from claiming one of these stories for my own?

Nothing. Honestly, I'd consider it a compliment. I figure that as long as I don't post anything here that I plan on using for profitable purposes sometime in the distant future I'm alright.

Can I post something here?

Go right ahead! If even one person wants me to post one of their stories, I will make a whole section of this site divoted to guest works. Just e-mail me if you are interested.

How can I contact you?

Through e-mail, or if not, alternative means of contact can be found here.
