Jim's Biography
:
Jim is the oldest of
the four Corrs, he's the big brother that started this in the first
place. He's the one who wanted to form a band with his three sisters
but at that time they were too young and he had to wait until they
finished school. Meanwhile he was in a band and toured in Germany
(good for him!). He plays the keyboards and the electric and
acoustic guitar, accordion and piano.
You could say that Jim is the backbone of the band. He's the one
getting things done in the family. Unfortunately he's mostly in the
shadow of his three gorgeous sisters but Jimbo here doesn't mind,
because, as he says it's where he's most comfortable at.
'You don't seem to understand. I'm here to make the girls look good'
Not only he's a very talented musician (probably the most talented
Corr around) but he's involved in producing, mixing and editing as
well. He's the one taking care that everything is just as he and his
sisters want it to be. Jim co-produced 'Forgiven Not Forgotten' as
well as some of the tracks on 'Talk On Corner'. Does that make him
the leader? No it doesn't. They decide everything together. Even if
he's the only male in the band and the big brother he often says
with a big smile on his face:
'Any fool knows you don't tell Irish girls what to do'
Jim is the one with a good joke in his pocket, saving it for the
right time. During interviews he leaves the talking to his sisters
and all he's waiting is the perfect moment to say something
hilarious. Still, when it comes down to business the girls bow out
and leave the scene all to their big brother.
He is one of the sweetest guys around the music industry and I
wonder why the girls aren't fighting over him. He's not only cute
but he is the protector type (though he doesn't admit it) and he
takes really good care of his sisters. He's always there with a hug
and I think it would be a privilege for anyone to have him for a big
brother. But a big brother can afford to make fun of his younger
sisters, can't he? Things like putting bottle caps on Andrea's head,
or lifting Caroline up in the air, or making fun of Sharon's skirt
(The Right Time Documentary), all these tiny things are part of
Jim's great personality.
He's the brother who'll always be there and in my opinion The Corrs
wouldn't be The Corrs without a male in the band
