Scv's:
These are your main men. Use them to build all of your structure's.
And a key element in attacking if you plan it right. They can repair all
mechanical units, including flying units, and all buildings. This is good
to use when you are getting attacked, like on a bunker. You can repair it
while your units inside are kicking tail. This makes it a pain in the butt
to kill. They are also good to use with alot of Goliaths and tanks, you can
repair them while you are attacking. You sort of get the idea.
Marines:
These are your basic attackers. They can attack all other units.
Flying and all. These are the first army men you will probably build. They
can go into bunkers for added protection and maximum protection to your
there range. Any thing they can reach is as good as dead. This is pretty
good early attack defense. As well even though it takes at there mobility.
But, you can move them in and out of them as well just takes a lillte time.
The can be upgraded about 7 times. Six in the engineering bay and twice in
the Academy. This upgrades weapons and armor and so on.
Firebats:
These are your second line of defense. There attacking power is
up there. They match the power of the zealots, of the protoss. There range
isn't all that great but there power makes up for it. They can also be put
in the bunkers. And are good agiasnt close range attacks. But with a few
marines backing them up they are good help in battle. They can also be up-
graded about the same amount of time as the marines. And there flame
will not hurt your own men. But can attack more than one unit of the
enemies men if they are lined up which is really good agianst the peon
stream. But you can read about that in may later stratigies stuff.
Ghosts:
These guys you will get a little later in the game. But they are
worth the wait and cost to get them. Not only can they launch one of the
most deadly Attacks of the game. The NUKE and it is totally bad. Even
though it takes even longer to get that. The ghost have the ability to
cloak which means only certain things can see them this makes the
an awesome counter to the awesome power of seige mode on tanks. You can
cloak and the tanks can not see you. Then you can simple lock them down
and take it out with out any struggle from that unit at all. The only
thing that sees cloak is a SCIENCE VESSAL, MISSLE TURRET, but it can't
attack you so unless men are there you are save. I only told the terran
units that can see them the other races have counters as well. Lockdown
is a good attack on mechanical units only. It totally emobilzes them.
Makes them where they can't move and attack you back. They have a bunch
of upgrades. When you get all of the upgrades it makes them harder to
kill.
Vulture:
These dudes are very fast, and their weapons are very strong.
I espically like there spider mines which can be only seen be certain
units. Like Svc's and other vulture's will not set them off either.
But the mines are good for taking out big groups of men. I also think
marines can see them and attack them but you have to attack them
manually or they will BOBOOOOM! And well you know what that means.
Little bitty peices. You can even upgrade their speed to make them
faster. I like useing them for exploring late in the game. But I would
recommend exploration early in the game. Espically if you are playing
agianst Protoss.
Goliath:
These are a great antiair attack. They can take out wraiths
with their HELLFIRE MISSLES, in a short time. But I personally think
unless you are playing agiasnt someone who really likes air stuff,
than I wouldn't just go crazy on building these guys. I think marines
in the bunkers are as strong as the goliath's. But they are good on
attacks against the enemies town. They have a load of upgrade and
they cost a good bit of money. And they aren't very cheap to build.
So don't go over board on the building of these.
Siege Tank:
These guys are very cool. I personally think these are
great for all kinds of offense and defense. They are deadly on siege
mode. One shoot death to most units. And with like three of these and
some marines and firebat to back them up or just keep stuff off of
them. They are almost unstopable. But BEWARE THERE CANNONS CAN
HURT YOUR MEN, ON SIEGE MODE. They have splash damage. But in your
attacks or defense you should have these in your army. The can attack
way farther than there sight so it is good to bring something that
can see really good when useing them, like science vessels or ghost.
Dropships:
They are good for what else but droping firebats and
ghosts into the opponets town or peons to another gold mine. I
don't use them unless to do thoughs things but their is really
no other use. They are really slow and can not be upgraded. But
they have a pretty good strength so they can take some pretty good
hits. Also if you are getting like killed while alot of men are in
it being transported and their is no help, unload quickly and if
army men were in there either attack or run. It is your call, but
if peons runs like crazy to your town. But I recommend having a
few Wariths to assist them on their journey.
A-17 Wraiths:
They are quick and can use that magical cloak. It is
good to do if you really want to mess with someone or really do some
damage bring a cloaked wraith into your opponets gold or gas stream.
It they don't have something that can see it you can do a good
amount of damage. But with a good bit of these you can do some real
attacking once upgraded. A litte you can do a strike to totally
take out what ever gets in their way. Also use them to bring with
dropships, so they have some protection. They antiair attack is
pretty strong. Land attack not so terrible powerful but gets the
job done.
Battlecruiser:
This sucker is good only for the one shoot out of its
huge cannon, The yamato cannon, it can cause some serious damage
with one blast and its normal cannon takes fifthy. But it is really
slow and COST 400 CRYSTALS and takes for ever to build. I would not
build to many of these if any. And it also takes forever for your
cannon to repower up for another shoot so. That one is up to you,
I don't ever use to many of these though.
Science Vessel:
For a explorer this thing is really useful, it is
good for so much. First of all, if you are going for major NUKE
attack, they are good.. Because with the cloak you can cast the
defensive Matrix. It protects what ever you put it on for a good
while. So you have enough time to get in their town a set off a
little boom. But it doesn't shield them totally but almost all
of totally. So if you farely sneak in you will be able to get it
off. And its EMP shock wave is good to use on battle crusiers.
This cause all of it power to go to zero. Like the magic power
for the Yamato Cannon. But my Favorite is the irradiate, you
can use this on like a marine, The enemies. Put it on one of his
me in the middle of his group it cause the man you put it on and
anything that man touches to die pretty fast. So it is good to
put on a group of men. Take them all out. I really like that one.
But you have to upgrade to get the irradite and EMP. And they can
see ghost that are cloaked and any other cloaked units. But they
cost 300 gas so use them wisely and don't be shy to repair them
if they get attacked. I would have a few of these!
