Michigan isn't called "the land of Lakes" for nothing.  All of this pages pictures were taken around two of the smaller lakes that are near us.  There were friendly fishermen in the area who may have thought it strange for us to be taking so many pictures, but we found some truly beautiful scenes that we'd like to share with you.
Even though it's October and many leaves are falling, this small delicate flower was just opening.
If you look carefully you'll see a tiny ladybug in this picture.
I was surprised to find this Yucca plant growing wild in MI.
A bit of the blue sky showed it's releflection in the water here.
When we took this picture an old fisherman was getting ready to launch his one man rowboat into the water for a peacefull day on the lake among the lillypads.  The folding lounge chair in his boat is just visible in the center of the picture.
Many green lillypads graced the edges of this lake.  They can quickly tangle up a fishermans line and cause him to lose his catch. Small fish love to congregate around them.
I can imagine a graceful white swan sailing by in this picture just about now.  This scene evokes such a feeling of peace.
Seeing double...
like fireworks in the water
