I first noticed John C. Rilley as the Cop in Magnolia. I laughed for days over the scene when he was talking to the little black kid- "Okay SNOOP DOG!" . Then I found out that he was in Boogie Nights (I hadn't seen it yet) along with some other people from Magnolia. So I rented it and he was pretty funny in that too! Then when Perfect Storm came out I saw it just because he was in it. He wasn't verry funny, but he was a good actor.
These three above mentioned movies he played three totaly different characters and played them good. This is pretty impressive because there are a lot of big actors who almost always play the same exact role (ex, a cop who always has a hangover, or the old guy who always ends up being evil)
