Make a Stacked Log Fence
Materials needed:
- Foam sheet or Corrugated cardboard
- White glue or Hot glue gun
- Bamboo skewers
- Leaf green paint
- Hobby paint brush
- Hobby knife
Abstract:
One of the simplest terrain features to make is a stacked log fence. You will be amazed how a few of these fences spruce up your battle field and give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside. They are really easy and you can make one in under 10 minutes.

Figure 1 - Stacked Log Fence
Procedure:
- Cut out a rectangle, 10 cm x 2.5 cm, of foam sheet or cardboard. This will be the base for the fence.
- Cut six 2.5 cm pieces and six 6cm pieces of bamboo skewers.
- Glue the six 2.5 cm pieces in to three X's. Then glue two of the X's to the base 0.5 cm from each short end of the base and the last X 5cm in from one of the ends (right in the middle of the base).
- Now glue four of the 6 cm bamboo pieces in an X pattern perpendicular to the first small X's (you use the small X's as rests for the big X's, see figure 1).
- Now glue the last two bamboo pieces across the top of the small X's and paint the base green, that's it, you have your fence.
Afterthoughts:
This, of course, can and should be taken a couple of steps further. Such as covering the base in a nice green scenic flocking, painting or staining the bamboo, and maybe even adding some lichen as a bush.
You can also use round toothpicks instead of the bamboo.
