Popular Folk Songs
Emptiness and Solitude.

by Falkryst de Flamberge.

Good song, Falkryst. No smart ass remarks here. Well, for now.

Here on the oars, the heart of the beast,
Fear of the whip, getting food that’s diseased.
Scars on my back, can’t even control my death,
An Ediuian ship, no hope for the best.
This loneliness rings strong like a bell,
I pray to go home, but am confined to this Hel.

Sailed away to a place that’s unknown,
Taken away from my friends and my home.
To a place they live well, the place I call Hel,
I long for the groves I once knew so well

Calloused hands, it’s all that I have,
Oar on and on, I got nothing to show,
But a miserable face, in this awful place,
Emptiness and solitude.
I dream of that place of this far away coast,
Where there were friends dear and times of toast.
Then a dark image of an eastern land,
Bears down and wrecks my hopeful thoughts.

Sailed away to a place that’s unknown,
Taken away from my friends and my home.
To a place they live well, the place I call Hel,
I long for the groves I once knew so well
