Coloran the Brave.
It was a bad time, full of terror and chaos and war. For a while, it seemed all was lost. Dwarven mountains lay crumbled, human cities destroyed and elvan homelands burned. In our darkest hour, our heroes shone brightly.
A motley band of warriors led an army combined of dwarves, elves, humans and others, straight into the heart of darkness. There, they confronted the evil wizard himself and, at great cost, they defeated him. That band of warriors was led by an elf named Coloran and this is his story.
He was a man of evil, if he was a man indeed.
He lived by hate, with malice and greed.
Borne of a goddess and the devil himself;
Feared was his wrath, by even the Elves.
Humans ran away, the dwarves went to hide,
Bilkins cringed and the rhekki cried.
Though all knew what his many names were,
The most feared of them all was Lurissiphre.Lurissiphre, Lurissiphre.
Run, children, run! Lurissiphre! There came a time of darkness. The land was ruled,
By goblyns, dragons, trolls and ghouls.
Wolves ate the crops, harpies drank the seas,
Wyrms fouled the air, giants felled the trees,
Blood filled the valleys, fire burned the streams,
Ghosts tore the sky and hid the sun beams.
The livestock starved and the men, they cried,
And women wailed as their children died.
Soon would come, seers did foretell,
The end of our lives and the start of Hel.
Then, through the strife, by sacrifice and pain,
Coloran the Brave, our saviour, came!Coloran the Brave, Coloran the Brave.
Come children, see Coloran the Brave! He gathered the tatters of all the goodkind,
'Twas no mean feat, as he would find.
Yet he and his fellows did perservere,
Of Lurissiphre they were not afeared.
Slain were the harpies, the wolves, the wyrms;
Felled were the giants, the ghost, the curs;
Bested were the goblyns, the trolls, the ghouls,
Even the dragons, who of all were most cruel.
By the arrows of Quindlain, who's aim was true,
By the claidmor of Whelkar, who'd hew and hew,
By the spells of Fandel, who's magic was pure,
By the knives of Ulkwn, who'd ne'er missed before,
By the mace of Brema, who was the picture of might,
By the sword of Coloran, who fought through the night.
They pressed and pressed, tho' many would fall,
Soiled and bloodied they reached Darkawl.
And there they found the vile leader,
They stood face to face with Lurissiphre!Lurissiphre, Lurissiphre.
Face to face with Lurissiphre!Thrust was the claidmor, but to little avail,
Arrows were fired, but did not sail.
Swung was the mace, but it shattered in two,
The heroes were troubled, knew not what to do.
In spite of their valour, no matter how much,
Lurissiphre the Evil stood, laughing, untouched.
He cackled and bellowed and snickered and roiled,
The sound of him made the heroes blood boil.
They yelled and charged, with courage refound,
And with malice and lightning he struck them down.
Alone on the mountain, stood Coloran and he,
The brave elf knew not what was to be.Coloran the Brave, Coloran the Brave.
What would become of Coloran the Brave?!The evil wizard did stroll up to him,
As the hero felt his heart burning within.
Coloran's sword was of ancient design,
Engraved with runes from ancient times.
It lit, with searing, scorching light,
From the souls of the martyrs, drew its might.
It flashed and sparkled, grew bright as day,
Lurissiphre cringed, with nothing to say.
He threw dark magicks at Coloran the Brave,
Which, with stunning ease were batted away.
Frozen in his steps, Lurissiphre tried
To turn the wrath of Coloran aside.
He begged and pleaded and cajolled and lied,
He tempted and bargained and tried and tried,
But nothing could sway Coloran's resolve,
With one swift stroke, he cut the head off!Coloran the Brave, Coloran the Brave.
Slayer of Evil, Coloran the Brave!Coloran wept, his duty fulfilled.
Buried his friends tho' his own blood spilled.
He walked away, with his heart hollow,
Tho' victory achieved, he was full of sorrow.
Evil slain, defeated; disaster averted;
Destruction banished; darkness converted.
His task was complete, but alone was he,
What became of him, none would see.
His love set all the goodly folk free,
He left for lands of twilight and fayrie.
Yet we in his debt, the world he saved,
Would never forget, Coloran the Brave!Coloran the Brave, Coloran the Brave,
Slayer of Evil, Coloran the Brave!
Coloran the Brave, Coloran the Brave,
Remember, children, Coloran the Brave!
