Hello, this is my news section, which I will try to update daily, or at least every second day. But, since this page is new, you may not see that many updates until I can really get the ball rolling. In these articles, I will always name my source, and if I don't, e-mail me. If the N64 is your system of choice, you may want to bookmark this page, instead of travelling from NGO to GEO and so forth. This is because I will post all important Nintendo 64 related news pieces here. Anyhow, on to the news!

What's been happening here
at Fusion-Page.
Well, as many observers have acknowledged, the N64 News section here at Fusion-Page is being updated less and less. The reason for this? First off, their honestly hasn't been any real N64 News to speak of, apart from Shoshinkai (but we have a section for that). Secondly, there are SO many news sites out there that I really doubt anyone read things on my page that they hadn't read elsewhere. For these reasons, I will not be updating the News until major info comes along. Thanx for your support.

A little update....
First of all, I would like to give my sincere apologies for not updating these N64 pages for so long. I have done this for two reasons: first of all, I finally own an N64 with SM64 and PW64. Having beaten Mario w/120 stars after about a week straight of playing, I then turned to PW, which has taken up quite a bit of my time, as I strived to get all perfect scores. Soon, I'll have WaveRace, and then I again probably won't be updating for a day or two. the second reason is that, quite realy, there hasn't been all that much major N64 news lately. And finally, the fact remains that I am currently working on many new sections, including PS and Saturn pages, so that I will have a multiplatform site. Therefore, updates should commence again soon.
800 000 Units to be shipped By the
end of October
According to a very recent (today) press release, Nintendo plans to have shipped 800 000 units to North America by the end of this month. This is a far cry from the proposed "500 000 in '96" Nintendo tried to fool us with. In any case, the N64 has been enjoying astronomical success in America so far. Check out the full press release at Cap's Place.
460 000 Units Sold up till Oct. 22nd.
Another press release emerged recently, with Nintendo's latest sales figures emblazoned upon it. Yes, that's right. These figures make the N64 launch the MOST SUCCESSFUL VIDEO GAME CONSOLE LAUNCH OF ALL TIME. Whew. Check out the full press release, courtesy of Reuters.
1.5 Million Units to be Shipped
(surprise, surprise) and Sumo Wrestling?!
In a move which shocked absolutely no one, Nintendo today annouced its dedication to bringing 1.5 million N64s to America by the end of '96. If you were expecting shortages, well, here's hard evidence that there won't be. The full press release can be found at N64.Com. On a completely unrelated note, Gamefan has reported that Oozumo 64 is under development. What is Oozumo? Well, actually, Oozumo is a sumo wrestling game, complete with short, fat, super-deformed characters! Although this game obviously will only be coming out in Japan, it's interesting to note that this game uses the fabled "analog + digital controller" layout, which means you hold the first and middle grips with your hands, using the digital to move, and the analog to grapple and swing. Till next time, this is Gotenks! Only a week until WR... Sigh...

350 000 Units sold. And
Counting!
In a press release distributed throughout the video gaming
community, Nintendo today announced that ALL 350 000 units of the
first shipment have already sold out. BIG numbers,
especially for North America! It has to have been the most
succesful console launch of all time! I'd better read up on
that one, though. 8^) Comparitavely, the N64 sold MORE
units in its first day, than the Playstation sold in 12 WEEKS,
and the Saturn sold in 32 (!!) WEEKS. Nintendo pulled in
100 million the first day alone. Check out the full story
at Cap's page,
or just about anywhere else (it's BIG news). I hate to make
predictions, but if this kind of demand continues, my PS and
Saturn could well become obsolete... I Hope not tho...
Gotenks got his N64!
Well, since many of you reading this probably own one too by now, I don't have to tell you how astounding or unsurpassed it is. For those of you who don't..... I mock your pitiful lives. Just kidding! :) In a little bit, I'll be adding a "Reviews" section, so stay tuned! On a side note, I've just made a deal with Mr.Person (you all know him from Ig and GEO, right?) to begin work on a Project Atlantis page. Should be up in about a month....
That's all for today's news. Seeya next time.

Namco OFFICIALLY
Announces Nintendo 64 Development!
Yes, it's true! Maybe there is a god. Longtime Rivals Namco
and Nintendo have teamed up, officially! We've been hearing
rumors for a long time, and now it's been confirmed! This
should make Sony slightly (okay, very) nervous, as they've lost
their best developer. Namco's first two games are said to
be a sports game and an RPG (possibly Tales of Phantasia 2!).
For more info check out GameFan
Online.
N64.com now
officially open!
After an ironic delay, the site is now up. Daily
updates make this an N64 lovers' dream! Check it out! At
this point though, the server is SLOW, even with a fast modem. Write me if you get
in.
Some Little
Pieces of Info.
Enix has announced they will be developing SIX new games for the
N64 in the coming year. The N64 is rapidly becoming an RPGer's
dream machine. See GFO.
You no doubt already know this, but you may be able to get
your hands on an N64 today! Units were shipped from Nintendo's
warehouse today, and some independant retailers may be choosing
to sell their units early. Call Around.
